I'm pre-op and nearing the end of my assessment stage (and therefore nearing the time I get a surgery date). Throughout this process I have had bouts of anxiety where I sometimes feel overwhelmed by all of this information I'm trying to absorb, changes

I know that I do not have to tell my boss what type of surgery I am having. But my boss keeps asking. She is really the nicest person and I'm sure means nothing by it, but I'm embarrassed to say I need WLS. I'm just not there yet emotionally to be able

The subject says it all. I found conflicting info in my orientation packet vs TWH website.

Apologies for muddying the forum with a simple one line Q& A.

I have my surgeon appointment scheduled. My nurse practitioner said she wanted me to see him "sooner rather than later" because I have a gastrointestinal disease. I have seen other posts where people get their surgery date and buy Optifast at thr surge

I have not had surgery yet. I am reading the nutrition info my hospital gave me and am a bit confused. Does the clear fluid/liquid/soft food sequence happen for patients with a VSG or only RNY?

I am pre-op and may need a VSG (instead of roux-en-Y) due to another medical condition I have. I see the surgeon in August to discuss. But, I can't help but feel a little disappointed. I suffer from anxiety disorder, so I worry needlessly about the sma

I know this will vary by hospital, but as a relative newbie to the whole bariatric scene, I found this useful I was given this link during an appointment at TWH: http://twhbari-care.org/

you can click the various links to see what to expect. I

I'm sorry to post so often, but I have my first post-orientation appointment at TWH tomorrow, and I don't know the room number. It just says 4th floor. Any veterans know?

I have tried many, and either I can't tolerate the taste (stevia) or I get so nauseous I vomit. This is pre-op. I'm desperately trying to find a few options I can handle now so I have a list to choose from after the big day.

if anyone

It seems part of the criteria for bariatric surgery is failed attempts to lose weight on your own. I realize I will be going through a lot of changes after surgery, so I want to do what I can pre-op to lessen the blow. In cutting out sugar, unhealthy c

I'm probably a rare find... But I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years and need gastric bypass (obviously, I'm not here to talk about gardening tips). I'm wondering if there are others out there? I'm mainly concerned about all I have read about "ge
