Goals Achieved!

Nov 29, 2010

It's been 2 months since my last post.  A few good things have happened since then.
1. I felt liberated from the scale and I put it away on top of my closet only to make an apperance once every 2 weeks
2. I successfully RAN a 1/2 marathon in a faster time that I expected. My time was 2 hours 27 minutes and 19 seconds
3. I passed my surgeon's weight loss goal for me, which was 70% of my excess body weight or 120 pound weight loss.

Wow, I have to stop and remind myself to be proud of the accomplishments.  Even now I just kind of brush them off as an everyday thing.  I think it's because we're often taught, especially us ladies, to be humble and to not toot our own horns mainly so that we don't seem cocky and egotistical.

Well I'm putting the scale up for good now, only coming down maybe once a month.  There is no longer a reason to have it or to keep getting obsessed by a number on the scale.  I know that I'm getting smaller and I'm swimming in my size 14 clothes (which is the smallest size in plus sizes!) When people have asked recently what my final weight loss goal is, I respond with another 30-40 pounds, which would put me in the 135-145 pound range.  It seems soooo foreign to me, but I think with my training that I'll need for 2011 that I most certaintly can hit those numbers.  Basically anything that comes off at this point is an added bonus.

I hope everyone else can find a reason, if it's a small one, to celebrate today.
