And the new life keeps going on....

So I'm nearly 4 weeks post op and last night I started going to Tan and Tone again and actually, it felt GREAT to be able to slip back into working out and stretching, and boy is it much easier getting off those beds without an extra 35lbs in the way!! I'm drinking a lot of water and eating very little. There is absolutely NO hunger pangs. Food is just an afterthought these days. I remember to "eat" and it's just amazing that a person can do without so much! It's absolutely unreal. I have a protein shake in the AM and a bit or two of something in the afternoon (I take my lunch hour late so it makes the rest of the day go quicker) while I read a magazine or walk a little. I should be walking a lot but I'm not. I'll get that "want" back in me, I am sure. I can't tell you the feeling of laying on those toning beds and stretching, how flat my stomach felt to me and yet it's NOT flat by any stretch of the imagination, but compared to what it WAS, it's flat!! And the tanning bed top shuts all the way down without touching me. I really had to suck it in on some beds.
I am rapidly running out of clothes! What a shame!! LOL. I have donated a ton of clothes to Salvation Army and to Laurie and some things I'm wearing once more and never again. It's happening that fast. I know that the weight loss will stall from time to time and with working out my body will change and even though the weight might not seem like it's leaving, it is being replaced by lean muscle so I have to remember that and to QUIT being obsessed with the scale. Although I think I can allow myself a little obsession for another 20 lbs or so...?? We'll see.
Best thing I've ever done for myself, without a doubt.

Surgery was a slam dunk. I have been fortunate that I've not suffered one bit of any complications (knock on wood), have lost weight over the 2 weeks and even started mushies a couple days early! Started at 260, lost 14# prior to surgery, weighed 243 on surgery day and weigh 231 this morning (6/11/09). Have purchased a few "inspiration" outfits in a shockingly smaller size because they wouldn't still be available if I waited til they actually fit! Didn't spend much and they are awaiting my appreciation!
