My first meeting wasn't until after surgery and he was a nice, caring, professional man.
Hasn't change a bit.

I watched my daughter thru this process 6 mo
ago, aftercare is very much emphasized.Yes, the aftercare program is very structured.

Straight forward, not as to scare you, but you learn all of it.

Like I said, I saw him with my daughter for surgery and aftercare, he was very good!!

I was impressed that Dr. Obeid was not only my bariatrc surgeon but also head of trauma at Hurley Medical Center. I was very afraid of the surgery and it helped to know if a problem came up, he was trained to take care of it. He has never lost a patient and has a great reputation! He explained everything completely and answered questions so that anyone could understand them. I would recommened him with complete faith and confidence. The Bariatric staff is very supportive, and are availible for me to call anytime. I thought the nutritian staff was wonderful. They really did answer some goofy questions and kept a good sense of humor.

It was a good first impression. He is very upfront and informative. He also has a wonderful sense of humor. Very easy to talk to and answered every question. It is wonderful to hear that "God is Control". Office staff was very freindly. Very stern about what you need to being doing after surgery....walk walk walk.....sip sip sip. He had a wonderful bedside manner...he came in the room at the hospital very concerned about ME...I had to return to surgery due to a small vessle bleeding(did not extend my recovery), but he was concerned about me...the patient...and also my wife. She was not at the hospital at the time but made a point to contact her by phone to discuss. Very competent and would recommend him to anyone who asked.

They make scheduled visits and they try to make sure you make it to all of them.

Dr Obeid was very professional, and very informative. He answered all my questions and then met with a group of us to go over additional information and to answer more questions.

He definately cares about his patients, and his staff does too.

There was a very long wait to see the Doctor when I first seen him, he takes care of the Post Surgery patients first then sees the new ones. Once you get into a room, everyone comes to see you. It is a very confortable room (made for larger people).

After meeting with him, I cannot imagine any other doctor being as good in all respects.

I think Dr. Obeid was great. It was hard to develop a fair impression of him during the first visit because we didn't get to spend too much 1 to 1 time and it was a large group. The office is very busy, long waits are common. If you want to get in and out quickly try getting 1st appt. in am. During the surgery and post-op period he was wonderful and very particular about his guidelines being adhered to. I had some other problems once they opened me up a large cyst and a piece of bowel that was adhered to some mesh from prior hernia repair. The assistant Dr. wanted only to remove the cyst repair the bowel and close me back up but Dr. Obeid had the skills to complete the surgery. He even called me at home after discharge to check on me. I wish that the aftercare was a bit more structured, I really felt that I was more or less on my own trying to find protein supplements that I could tolerate. Maybe they could improve the nutritional support or develop a book to help post-ops with more support. But actually this isn't the surgeons responsibility it should be addressed by the program administration. I also know that he has a great surgical background and qualifications. He was stern when you needed it and humorous when you needed that and compassionate when that was what I needed.

Dr. Obeid is a very compassionate person. when I met him me and my friend went on the appointment together. I was not scared and i like the fact that he gave God tje credit for his gift to heal and help others and that was such a blessingg to me.Dr obeid gets a 10 from me he has very good bedside manor.

He knows his stuff. I felt i would be in good hands.

So far have not had any problem with the staff.

Didn't seem to realize that he needed to change his office procedure so that people didn't sit out in the waiting room for three hours.

I need to wait to see him a little more in the hospital to further rate him.

DR OBEID CAME ACROSS AS A VERY COMPETENT PERSON ALMOST COCKY .HOWEVER MY WIFE AND I WERE BOTH VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIM.IKNEW WITHIN THE FIRST 5 MINUTES OF TALKING WITH HIM THAT I WANT HIM DOING MY SURGERY.I THINK OBEID IS GONNA TELL YOU THE WAY IT IS NOT NECESSARILY WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR.IVE TALKED TO AT LEAST 20 OF HIS FORMER PATIENTS AND THEY ALL SAID THE SAME THING,THEY WOULD DO IT OVER AGAIN AND HES THE ONE YOU WANT.HIS OFFICE STAFF SO FAR SEEMS HELPFUL>AND CARING.
I DO THINK THINGS COULD MOVE A LITTLE FASTER THOUGH. I GUESS IT TOOKK TIME FOR ME TO GET THIS BIG ,ITS GONNA TAKE TIME TO GET BACK.
