Dr. Oh led a very informative meeting on the procedures he does. In fact I have been to 3 seminars and his was by far the most informative and gave factual information. Tina who is the dietician and also had surgery was there on hand and gave her story. Dr. Oh is very open about the pitfalls of the surgery and that you need to follow the letter of the law in vitamins and protein. rn

Went to Dr. Oh for a lap band fill. It took him 8 stabs to get the port. When I left, something did not feel right. I called later in the week after the feeling did not go away, and was told it would cost over $100 to go back to be checked! Upset with this, I went to a different doctor. When they checked my band, they said it was empty! That meant that either Dr. Oh missed the port, or ruptured the port or the tubing. After a check using fluoroscopy, they found that Dr. Oh had ripped a hole in my port! I now have to go through surgery again! I am in the process of dealing with the \"Risk Management\" Department to resolve this. Dr. Oh was very unprofessional. I reccommed that you save your money and go to someone who uses fluoroscopy. Learn from my mistake.

Imust say now being 3 months out that I am pretty happy with dr. Oh. He did a fabulous job operating on me. I had no pain when I woke up. He is a very competent surgeon. He has been professional and kept up his end of the bargain. No we are not getting together socially - I can live with the fact that we are not buddies. But dr. Oh gets a big thumbs up from me. dr. oh is a qualified, competent, surgeon who probably does more surgeries like these than anyone currently in wa state. I am less enthusiatic about his office and staff. I think he needs a larger waiting room as it gets pretty crowded in there. I just feel claustrophobic in there. Dr. Oh seems a little uncomfortable dealing one on one with people. maybe a cultural thing or maybe a busy surgeon type of thing. anyway not really important because I am seeking him out due to his technical expertise - not his personality

Dr. Oh is very professional and has a sense of humor. His staff is AWESOME. At my most basket-case worst, they are there for me. rnrnThe after care is strict. 4 weeks on liquids, and I mean liquids--only broth, tomato juice, sf jello, and sf popsicles. And protein drinks and supplements. Nothing else. Then 2 weeks on soft food.

...2002...Well I called the office and they seemed friendly and sweet. Sherri is a very nice informative lady... Made me feel so welcome . She also had the rny and looks so good. I went in with the doc and he was very nice asking me all sorts of ??'s then he drew a diagram and explained everthing he was very nice and I felt very comfortable .rnWell i feel very good about this. He did not mention any after care program yet. I am sure at my last visit he will go over that with me.rnrnUPDATE....... Nov. 7, 2006rnrnI have not been back to update my profile in a few years. I did not have surgery. I got scared and canceled it . I then gained more weight till about a year ago when I weighed in at a whopping 297. I then chose for myself to get healthy. It has been a year and a few monthes now and I have lost 107lbs. I feel great. I had a few platues that got me down but they soon ended and off the pounds started comming again. I wish everyone good health and would love to meet friends , so message me!!! Hugs, Lora

My first impression of Dr Oh is that he is the typical asian male. You have to be ready with questions or you might just come and go without the needed information but to me surgical competence was the reason I chose Dr Oh. I don't need a best friend I need someone who knows what he is doing. I enjoy his staff members as they are very helpful.

I honestly feel that my surgeon is the best. I trusted him with my life and my future. I have such confidnece in him and his staff have been so good to me. Thank you Dr. Oh, Tina, Dani and the rest of the awesome Dr. Oh staff.rnDr. Oh has wonderful aftercare. Every 4 months I get a series of blood test that check everything to be proactive against deficiancies. Dr. oh will spank you if you do not go to your appointments. However, ultimetly, it is the patience responsibility.rnThe risk of surgery was kinda down played, but again, the patient has to do their own research. I would rate him as the absolute best in the Northwest:)
