Dr Oh is a very skilled surgeon . He has very specific protocals for his pateints pre-op . I believe his strict pre-op protocal contiributes to his very low mortality rate . If you want a buddy , go to another doctor . He isn't one to coddle or hold your hand . If you want the best bariatric surgeon in Western Washington contact Dr. Oh's office for an appointment .

My first impression of Dr. Oh was that he is quite matter of fact. This is true to his nature though he does throw in jokes here or there if you can catch them. He will tell you what he expects and and what it will be like. You will not be able to go through this experience and say, \"He never told me.\" Somewhere in all the information, classes, appointments and training you were WELL informed!rnrnDr. Oh's bedside manner is not warm and fuzzy. So if that's what your looking for that's to bad. His compentency, success rate, refinement of a surgical technique used over the past 20 years has given him a skill level that I truly believe I will be in good hands with!rnrnTheir pre-surgery requirements and aftercare program are thorough and strict. BUT, IF YOU FOLLOW THEM YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL! rnrnI have met people who won't have surgery through his office because they want an easy fix with no responsibility, follow up, or limitations after the surgery and, a warm and fuzzy doctor. rnrnTheir office cares about you being successful and taking WLS seriously. They are busy and not the most warm and fuzzy syrupy people. But, they are there for you and will never leave you hanging. rnrnHaving a great surgeon, successful surgery, and a supportive aftercare program where I have resources to keep my weight off for the rest of my life and be the healthiest I can be are the most important factors to me. I KNOW I'M IN GOOD HANDS! rnrnTIFFANNY H. (My personal thoughts & impressions.)

I was referred to Dr. Oh by friends who have had the surgery. They all say he is the best and I concure! He did a fabulous job with them but he will tell you it's not all about the surgery itself you have to commit to the lifestyle to have the results you want - it is no quick fix, you have to work for it! I am preop so have only seen the doc 3 visits so far. I like his style - no nonsense, straight forward to the point. He will answer all your questions but please be respectful of other patients and make sure to write them down - from what I gather he doesn't like to keep his patients waiting which.. I like!rnrnThe staff is awesome - 3 of the 4 office staff have had the surgery performed by Dr. Oh, they are very helpful, ready and willing to answer any questions!

'My first impression of Dr. Oh was that he was a very busy man who didn't have time to get personal with his patients. Which was fine because he came so highly recommended by my sister. She is a nurse and used to work with Dr. Oh in the operating room. rnrnMy impression of him changed when he came to check on me 5 times the day of my surgery. He was there at least a few times every day and explained everything very thoroughly to me and my family.rnrnHis office staff are all very nice.rnrnHe was hard to understand at first because of his accent but I got to where I could understand him just fine.rnrnHe has a very strict aftercare program. If you can't/don't want something this strict

'I have only had one consultation with Dr Oh so far but I have talked to several of his patients who have already had the surgery and they speak very highly of him. He was very nonjudgemental and found something positive to say about me which meant a lot.rnrnThe office staff is efficient and very professional. I know at least one of them has had the surgery herself and she is beautiful!rnrn6/13/06 - I have completed all of the pre-surgery tests/office visits. In my opinion

Dr. Oh is an excellent surgeon. He is concise and kind. He really want to help you. He is ver strict and expects you to participate in your weight loss. He gives very clear information and gives alot of nutritional information. He wants you to lose and be healthy.

His staff is friendly but very busy. You can get information any time. They are as competant as the doctor.

I appreciate them all and all the assistance they have given me.

Some people say the Dr. doesn't have a good bedside manner. I think he is just busy and not a chatty person. He is kind and inform ative. He doesn't coddle and expects you to work hard at your aftercare. He is my surgeon not my buddy, if I want to chatter I'll call a girl friend.

I had my first consult and met Dr. Oh for the first time. My first impression of him was he is down to busines but very friendly. He presented our orientation meeting and by the time our meeting was over I felt like I have know him for a long time. His staff is made up of many patients that have had his surgery and are so very helpful and very sensitive to your needs. I found out he has completed over 5000 different Bypass surgery's all of which have been sucessful, but 1 and that was not the Doctors fault. He has a wonderful after care program, and continues to see his patients throughout their recovery. He discussed all of the risks of the surgery and all of the after effects that a person will go through. I would not have chosen a more sincere, dedicated, a more humble Doctor for this surgery. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family.

Dr. Oh is a very quiet gentleman. He will answer any questions you have, but is not particularly forthcoming with detailed information. Not that he doesn't tell you what is going on, but the details get left out.

The office staff was primarily composed of women who had weight-loss surgery themselves. There were photos of them before and after decorating the office and seeing how great they looked in person really was encouraging.

What I liked least about the office part of the surgery was that I spent such a small amount of time talking to any of them that I felt like they wouldn't recognize me if they saw me outside of the office. I realize that they have a lot of people come through there, but a little more time and attention in the office would have been appreciated.

Dr. Oh was very careful to make sure I understood what I needed to do before, during and after surgery to help the process along. He even went so far as to have me write down instructions in my own handwriting (theoretically so I could read it, however, I can't read my own handwriting).

I don't know if there is a structured aftercare program as I don't live anywhere near where my surgery was performed. They did encourage me to find a support group in my own area and to stay in contact with the office via email or phone calls, though.

Dr. Oh and I did discuss the risks of surgery in detail. I felt good about that part.

I would recommend Dr. Oh to anyone who doesn't need a warm, fuzzy doctor. He is good, but clinical. Surgical competence is more important to me than a warm bedside manner. My doctors are not my buddies and I don't want them to be, but I know everyone doesn't feel that way.

I first meet DR OH at the orientation. I was very impressed with him and made my first appt. He seems to be very caring and really wants to help you.

He is typical stoic Asian male - not touchy-feely, not very personal, at all.

But underneath, he's kind-hearted, really cares, and he's terminally shy.

Office staff is much improved over what it used to be . . . Tina, the nutritionist, is one of us, and really *KNOWS*.

Dr. Oh's program involves life-long aftercare . . . labs, vites, and protein shakes. Don't bother to see him if you can't commit to these things for *LIFE*.

And his patients are very successful . . . our results are great! :o)

I rate Dr. Oh finest kind!
