Dr Oh was very friendly and informative.
I learned he was very experienced
He has staffing issues which cause some problems.
One thing I would change is I wish he wasnt so rushed when at appointments
Other pt should know he gets right too business but every once in awhile you will see his great personality.
After care is extremely important and he directs you to the needed people if you need help
He went through every possible risk with me on my last appt before surgery. He makes you sign off that you understand each and every risk.
I would rate him a 8 out 10.

*********NEW INFO********4/2/05

I was quoted for my Laproscopic Gastric Bypass (Proximal Only):
$32,943.00

I was told this included 2) Surgeons, Hospital, Anesthesiologist and are only close approximates.

I received a bill from the hospital for $54,000.00 - I still havent heard from the surgeons or the anesthesiologist.

This is well over the quoted price. I have contacted the hospital and have obtained an itemized bill. I took this to Dr Oh and no one could tell me why the price quoted was so much under what the actual bill is. No one could give me an answer on this.

I plan on having my charts audited by the hospital to see if there was some mistake on there end.

I believe the mistake was on what I was quoted by the surgeon.

I still feel he is an excellent surgeon but his office and staff have much to be desired and unfortuantely are going to be the people you are directed to the most

My surgeon changed in November 2004 after I learned that my insurance would not cover Dr Clifford Porter's procedure (removing the unneeded stomach). Dr Oh came highly recommended in my real-life community, as well as in my online community. I am thrilled that I was given the opportunity to have Dr Oh as my surgeon. He's a little gruff, but he's a lot of fun for the most part. He's also a bit impatient...but it's worth it to me to have a surgeon insist that I follow his instructions *to the letter*. His aftercare is amazing, and I know I'll have him as part of my life forever.

Dr.OH was great.I would choose him all over again. He really cares abouts what you r going through. I think he goes the extra mile for you and he really doesnt have to.

Dr. Oh, like most surgeons, is a pretty to the point kind of guy. He's got a good sense of humor, will answer you questions and displays his kindness and caring for his patients frequently. He visited me a number of times in the hospital. He doesn't linger over questions and can get frustrated with the type I often ask - clarifying questions - so persistence is sometimes key. He probably thinks I'm not listening the first time he tells me something because I just might ask a follow-up question to make sure I understand his instructions.

He gives you all the information you need to make your own decisions; he does not push you. He explains the different types of procedures and tells you that you have to honestly assess your own eating to determine which one will give you the best chance of success.

He does not have the slightest bit of attitude or prejudice when it comes to weight issues. Surprisingly, even doctors in this field can display such tendencies.

He stresses aftercare and has the nutritionist cross out many of her notes on supplements and diet instructions to increase the amounts and time frames.

His office staff is filled with former patients, therefore, there is a wealth of information and experience in that office. They are all very kind and willing to answer any and all questions. I've taken to asking the assistant who takes me back to the exam room all the questions that don't have to be asked of the doctor and then leave just a few for him. Works really well. They're all excellent advisors.

I researched every doctor in the state and decided that Dr. Oh had the most experience, teaches the procedures and worked through St. Francis Hospital where they've set up the NW Center for Weight Management, an excellent clearinghouse for getting everything ready for the surgery, scheduling appointments, and following up with you post-op. Dr. Shrikanth assisted. My research told me he would have been my second choice.

I know I was definitely in very good hands all the way around.

My impressions of Dr. Oh is that he is very serious about the surgery. He has a good sense of humor also. His office staff are excellent, especially Kristina, very helpful!

I am so fortunate to have chosen Dr. Oh as my surgeon. I have had NO COMPLICATIONS and everything has gone so smoothly. He has a very good SENSE OF HUMOR and I enjoy the office visits. Homeboy has gotz sum SURGICAL SKILLZ! 'Nuff Said?

If you choose Dr. Oh be prepared to be on one of the most RIGOROUS and REGIMENTED post op programs available. He keeps a real close watch on all of his patients to make sure they're doing well. If you choose Dr. OH, YOU ARE CHOOSING A GREAT SURGEON THAT WILL REMAIN A PART OF YOUR LIFE! He doesn't do the surgery and then turn you over to some half doctor lackey.

Dr Oh is a wonderful Dr. He jokes hes not a regular comedian but he's funny.
Dr.Oh's staff are friendly and plesant and will help as much as they can.
Dr.Oh has a strict aftercare program but its worth it.

My first impression of Dr Oh was, he is a man a few words but knows his stuff. He is very direct and to the point. Now that I am post op and have gotten to know him more, I think he is the greatest!! He is still a man of few words, but he is very caring and cares a lot about our health and well being. He has a very strict after care program and I love that. He wants you to succeed and be healthy, he doesnt just perform surgery and send you on your way to fend for yourself. Any concerns or problems you have, he wants you to call. He has a patient advacote (Kristina) who is just wonderful, that you can call with all your questions or problems. My feeling about Dr Oh and his staff is that they are the best. The office gets a little chaotic at times, but they are all great. I would recomend him to any and everyone, he is an extremely skilled surgeon.

After consulting with another physician in the area I decided to meet with Dr. Oh. I was instantly impressed. He's confident, funny, compassionate and from everything I've been able to find has a great track record in performing these procedures.

I enjoyed my visit to his office immensely, think the office staff is really friendly and on top of things.

He was very informative and kind.

Impression of him hasn't changed

No comment on the office staff at this time.

The only thing that I can say that I least like about him is that I sometimes fill rushed, but I realize that he is only one person with many, many patients.

That he knows what he is doing and before my surgery I can honestly say that he put me at ease. Regardless of anything, I would choose him a thousand times over again.

He emphasizes aftercare effectively and a matter of factly.

Yes

It was explained in detail during the initial group meeting and then there is litature that is given to you to review and signed to ensure that you understand what you have read.

On a scale of 1-10, I will give him a 9, because the only perfect one in my book is My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Surgical Competence, I don't care if I never seen him again after surgery as long as I was assured that he knew without a doubt what he was doing.
