I finally met with Dr. King. I was very impressed with him. He wanted to make sure that I was aware of every important detail. When my attention wasnt on he even said "this is important..." to make sure I was listening! I thought my husband was going to die. He was very supportive, and not at all condescending of being obese. Most of my doctors look you like you to blame for being overweight. I left his office feeling so much more postive than I have felt in a long time. Scope is scheduled for 9/2, and follow up 9/4. Hopefully......surgery around 9/15 if scope is ok.

My first impression of Dr. King was that he's a very educated doctor and really cares about his patients. Dr. King spent a while with me talking about the risk of wls and what would take place during the course of time, before and after surgery. He has a very strict aftercare program. The office staff at his office are awesome! I checked out other doctors in my area, but found that they gave you the tool, but didn't follow up. Although it's roughly a 5 hour drive each way to see Dr. King it has been worth every mile. Thanks to Dr. King and his staff for doing what they do and make their patients feel at home.

9-17-02 I met Dr. King today, my first impression of him was a good impression. He was so kind, seemed to really care. He seems to be pretty strict, but he has been doing this for almost 20 years, he knows his job! He explained all the risks, and also explained how to prevent some things from happening. I was very pleased with Dr. King!
And His STAFF are GREAT!

Have not met with him yet. My first visit will be on July 24th. I also have a psych consult that day as well. Becky Wilson with Liv-lite has been very helpful in getting insurance approval.

7/25/03 - I met with Dr. King for the first time yesterday. He was very impressive. He took alot of time explaining WLS and answering all of my questions. He informed me that he has done over 300 open RNY and over 150 LAP RNY. I feel very comfortable with Dr. King as a surgeon. I feel that he has a wonderful gift and talent. He is very strict with aftercare but only because her wants you to succeed. I would definitely recomment Dr. King and Liv-Lite of Mississippi to anyone considering WLS.

Dr. King seems very knowledgable about RNY, he has been doing it for 7 years. He seems very nice, but strict, which is a good thing! His office staff is wonderful. Both he and his staff were very patient when answering all of mine and my husbands questions. I think he is going to be a great surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. King is my lasting impression, he tells you EXACTLY as it should be and what he expects from you if you want him to do your surgery. You are made aware of the risks associated with this type of surgery. He is a very busy man and will dedicate whatever time you need to discuss your health or any related procedures. He is a sensitive professional who is a very up to date competent surgeon. He has a very educated and friendly office staff. BB, one of his office/surgical nurses, is the BEST! Misty, office manager is wonderful! You are expected to follow the aftercare instructions completely. Overall I would rate Dr. King and his staff a 10+. The only suggestion I would have for future patients is expect a some wait the day of your office visits. My first visit was not the best because I had to wait about 3 hours to see the nurse then the doctor after a 2 1/2 hour drive. HOWEVER, YOU WON'T FIND A BETTER SURGEON! I'll work on my patience while Dr. King works on his patients.

I love Dr King and his staff. They have been very nice and anytime I had a question and called them, they always would call back the same day. I feel he is very strict, but he knows what he is doing. I think anyone that goes to him would have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He is great and very caring. He went over every risk of the surgery and he will even tell you death is one of them, that is how thuro he is. I would rate him a 10!!!!

I have not met Dr. King yet, but am looking forward to my appointment next Thursday.<P>

I have found that Liv-Lite has been wonderful to work with, and my contact and progress with Becky, (Program Manager in Oxford Ms.) has been excellent.

I understand that Dr. King is very strict and concerned about aftercare. <P><P>

5/15/03 I have met with Dr.King, met Becky of Liv-Lite and had a phsyc evaluation.
The experience was good. I liked Dr. King immediately, and he took time to talk with my husband as we asked questions and listened to his explainations.

I find that he is very experienced, and has very strick guidelines that he expects me to follow. I respect that. I want the best result of this effort.

Dr. King's staff were very helpful and nice.
I am scheduled for endoscope to make sure that my stomach has no condition that would prevent this surgery. After that procedure on June 24th, I will get a surgery date.

Dr. King is a wonderful man as well as a wonderful surgeon. There is not enough I can say about him. His hands and heart have been touched by God. His office staff is the best I have ever seen. They are all friendly and caring. Dr. King is honest and to the point. He is not going to feed you a bunch of B.S. He does not sugar coat this surgery.

Dr. King has done three different operations on my mom and she has done great. He has also operated on my dad and I credit him for saving my dad's life. As I said, his hands and heart have been touched by God. You will not find a more caring surgeon....

I had initial meeting with Dr. King on April 10th. He was knowledgeable and informative. I have done a lot of research about this surgery so I didn't have a lot of questions. Office staff was pleasant.
