mY FIRST VISIT WILL BE MARCH 18,
THEREFORE I HAVEN'T MET HIM YET.
IN FACT I'M GETTING A LITTLE
NERVOUS. HE DOES AN UPPER GI
HIMSELF SOMETIME AFTER THE FIRST
VISIT THEN I WILL KNOW FOR SURE
IF HE WILL BE ABLE TO DO THE SURGERY
BECAUSE MINE WILL BE A REDO FROM
THE MID 80'S

I HAVE TALKED WITH BECKY AT LIVE
LITE SHE IS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL

I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY FORMER PATIENTS
THAT HE IS VERY STRICT WITH
AFTERCARE.

Hello All,
My name is Stacy, Im 26 and I have been overweight majority of my life. When I was 12 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis it started in my wrists, now it has spread to my hands, elbows, knees, ankles, shoulders, and hips. (basically all over) I have talked to my family Dr. and she has suggested gastric bypass. I signed up and faxed my info. to Dana at Liv-Lit.com and last Monday Becky from Dr. King's office in Oxford,MS called and took my medical info. over the phone. She was super nice and so supportive, now I have to wait 3 more weeks or so to find out if my insurance will pay (please pray for me, keep all fingers crossed) I have Cigna PPO, but I dont really know if they are very understanding of this surgery and the need for me to have it. Thanks All, I'll keep posted.

My first impression of Dr.King was a good one. I thought he was a firm and informative
Doctor. He made it plain from the start that
if we were going to do this , I had to do my part as well. This is not a solution to a weight proplem but a tool to aid me in making my life healthier and more normal, but I have to work for it myself. He was very kind and considerate of my concerns. He explained everything I needed to know. His staff was also kind, courtous, and caring. I have nothing but good things to say about all of them. I developed a blood clot in my leg the night before I was to come home from the hospital so my four day stay turned into a twelve day stay. That could have been a nightmare in a lot of hospitals but at Baptist memorial it wasn't that bad. The nurses and staff there were also the best. I was still very glad to come home but if I had to stay that long in a hospital again, I would want to go back there.

All I can say about this man is I LOVE HIM!! He is wonderful, caring, compassionate and is in this for the right reasons...his patients. His nurses are great!! The staff is great and Becky at Liv Lite is heaven sent!! All I can say to future patients is do what your told. There is a reason for what he tells you. He told me everything that could go wrong and explained everything in great detail. I would recommend him to anyone who is truly interested in this sugery and willing to do what it takes for sucess.

I really like Dr. King. He is very caring and has a wonderful nursing staff. I did not like the wait time. However, it is worth it to know that you are in the best possible care. He is very straight forward about the surgery, complications and the aftercare. My husband used Dr. King, and is doing great therefore, I know first hand that he is super. He will answer any question, ANY TIME day or night. He is truly in the business for the right reason.

My first appointment with Dr. King was on June 20,2002. It was a very pleasant experience. He and his staff were al so kind-hearted. I knew immediately he was the surgeon for me. Dr. King is very direct and upfront about the risks of gastric bypass. He is also reassuring. I felt like he could take care of any problem I may encounter. I was advised after my surgery that I must be very compliant, which I have. Dr. King is very strict about the diet you follow after surgery. I believe he has his patients best interest at heart. I also believe he is an outstanding surgeon. I have to say my whole experience with Dr. King and his staff has been exceptional. I have now visited his office 6 times and my only complaint is sometimes the wait is a little long. :) I had surgery on August 2, 2002. And so far, I'm doing great. I'm down 70 lbs. as of Dec. 2002 and feel great!

Dr. King is a very smart man and very educated in his field and in the problems his patients face not only after surgery but now. He explained everything to me well and made me feel very comfortable.

I haven't met Dr. King yet. From my research, he seems to be a nice, concerned surgeon.

07/30/02: Went for my first visit to Dr. King. I liked the way he gives it to you straight forward. He is definitely not a salesman. He never told me how great it would be, or that my life would be magically transformed. He told me of every compaction that could happen, and said at one time or another he had seen all of them, even death. He said to research this the best I could, and make very sure that this was what I wanted to do. I like someone telling me straight. I ask him if something went wrong could this be reversed, and he told me straight, No after this surgery you can never go back to the way you are now. I asked if I would be able to have the surgery lap, and he said to make sure I could, I needed to lose about 35 pounds.

Dr. King is the most fabulous person I have ever met. He has been wonderful since the first time I walked into his office. The office staff is so friendly and helpful and they make you feel like you are the only patient that they are seeing that day.
Dr. King is really big on aftercare. To me, that is very important because he actually cares about your progress and not just about collecting a fee. The aftercare program is tough, but worth it. Dr. King is the most competent doctor I have ever seen. He is the COMPLETE package! I have nothing negative to say because I have not experienced any negative things since beginning treatment with Dr. King. I gues if I had to find one thing negative about my treatment it would be that I waited for about an hour for my last appointment. Oh no, HOW COULD THEY???
