Robert Quinlin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Quinlin was that he seemed very kind and understanding of my situation. He took an interest in me as a person and patient.
His staff is wonderful. His office is run efficiently by a group of compassionate people who are really awesome!
I honestly don't dislike anything about Dr. Quinlin or his staff. They have treated me incredibly well.
I think that Dr. Quinlin and his staff deserve an excellent rating!

Dr.Quinlin was very soft spoken but direct. I liked that right away. He was very straightforward about the risks of the roux-en-y surgery as well as the benefits. He has a very positive attitude. I felt at ease with him and his staff right away. I just knew I was in the right place. They offer a support group but I have not attended yet since I live 1 1/2 hrs away but I would like to try a meeting in the summer. My overall experience all the way around was an A+. I will recommend Dr. Quinlin to everyone!!!

Very personable. Kind.
Neither of these impressions have changed, and I have grown to like him even more and respect his competence and value his compassion.
Office staff are excellent. Helpful, efficient and personable.
I can't think of anything I don't like.
If you have your questions ready, he will take as much time as necessary to answer them thoroughly. He strongly stresses aftercare and expects compliance.
He does have a recommended structure for aftercare but worked with me to find my best program.
He was very up front about the possible problems associated with the surgery and living with the results. I would rate him 10 out of 10. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are exceptional.

I love Dr. Quinlan. He is very compassionate, competent, and considerate of his patients. I feel that my surgery was meant to be at St. Margaret's. I felt it the first time I went there to meet the surgeons. His office staff is absolutely wonderful. No matter how many questions I've had or how many times I've called, they've always been kind and considerate. However,I'm sure that Maria must be tired of hearing from me. The only thing that upset me was that Maria was the only one working onthe insurance. The poor girl needs some help. Aftercareis very important to them. Both his bedside manner and competence are great! I would rate my overall care there as an 8. Nobody's perfect. Alot of the bad things that happen to
me are just bad luck.

When Dr. Quinlin came into the first meeting with me I knew immediately the my PCP had been correct when he said Dr. Quinlin was very good. He has an air of confidence about him that quickly rubbed off on my wife & me.
He took the time at both meetings to answer all my questions.
As I have talked to various people in the waiting room it seems everyone feels the way I do.
His staff were very good at helping me with the process so far.
All aspects of the surgery, the risks and all the necessary changes in my life style have been explained to me carefully and completely to my satisfaction.
Even the waiting room has XXXL chairs so the larger patients are able to sit comfortablely.(Nothing like the thrill of trying to sit in a chair that is to narrow and having you keys pushed a 1/2" into your thigh!)
The only down side to all this has been the length of time it has taken to get everything done. When I went to the informational meeting in May we were told the process should run about 90 - 120 days.
It is now October and no surgery date yet, although I was promised I would get it some time this week (10-6-03 week)
Thank You, Maria!! I got my date today 10-15-03.
11-16-03 - Dr. Quinlin is as wonderful as I thought he was! Everything went like a textbook procedure. He or one of his assistants came to see me numerous times while I was in the hospital so there was no chance for anything to go wrong. I am deeply grateful to my PCP Dr. Gary Lemoncelli for his help and support throughout all this.

My first impression of Dr Quinlin was that he really knew his stuff and that he genuinely cares about his patients. I attended his info seminar and he personally took the time to sit next to me and answer a few questions one on one. That really impressed me. This impression has not changed. Two weeks before my surgery I needed to take steroids for poison ivy. When I call his office to find out if it was OK, he was gone for the day. When I woke the next morning, there was a message on my machine from HIM telling me that it was OK to take them. This really impressed my because he could of just had one of his staff call but he took the time out of his extremely busy schedule to call me personally. I feel he has an extremely confident office staff which keep everything moving smoothly. I had no problems at all with any of them. They got me approved quickly and answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was bothering them. He and his staff really emphasize aftercare. He wants you to see a personal trainer and provides an on staff dietician for life and recommends attending the support groups. I feel that he and his staff thoroughly reviewed all of the reisks associated with this surgery. I feel I was given more than enough information to make an informed decision. I feel that he is a terrific surgeon who has the skills and bedside manner to make this surgery an awesome experience. So far I truly have no negative feedback!

I have my first consultation on May 23, 2003. Well I had my 1st appt. with Dr. Quinlin He seems very nice, Office girls seem very nice. I have my next Appt. on July 8th to get my surgery date. I got my surgery date for Oct. 16. Dr. Quinlin is a very compasionate man, he truely understands. I would reconmend him to everyone. becareful of the ones who don't have you go through all the testing and following a strict plan afterwards. This man knows his stuff. I had my surgery and he was wonderful. I had no complications or much pain. Only 5 little cuts. He doesn't talk much but if you ask a question he explaines it fully. He has a great bedside manner,careing.... his surgical competence is the greatest asset I think he has. That's what matters most to me.

I met Dr Felix at the seminar and he seems very nice and willing to answer all my questions. I was hoping to have Dr Quinlin. The staff at his office was very helpful and willing to accomidate the next apts with me,even offered to make the next apt with Dr Quinlin. I have alot to get done before my next apt. I feel confident that with all the precautions the surgery will be succussful.

I can't say too much about him personally because I probably havn't talked to him more than 20-30 minutes total in the 4 times that I have been in his presence. As a surgeon, he is awesome. He did the surgery in one hour and I can't say that it was painful afterwards.
Yes, he does have a structured aftercare program.
He did address the risks and provided a lot of written material about the surgery.
A+ in his field. I had numerous medical staff at the hospital tell me that I had the best doctor.
I would say his surgical competence is better than the bedside manner;however, I really haven't talked to him much. I knew a lot about the surgery from what I had learned from other patients and from the internet so I didn't really have a lot of questions to ask him.

My first impression of Dr Quinlin was WOW
he understands! He understood when I told him I was young and wanted to live a long life, he understood when I told him that there are many adventures I want to have before I leave this blessed earth. Dr Quinlin is an excellent doctor, he took time with me, talk to me, explained alot of things to me. So right now I'm loving the good Doc, lol. His office staff were excellent. I have to give many thanks for Maria. She walked me through each process, she even made sure when she was on vacation that I could contact her and pass on information. If you thought Dr. Quinlin was a great man in my eyesight, then look out because Maria was even better! My encounter with Dr. Quinlin and his staff has been thorough and complete. If ever I had a question I would just call and still a week after the surgery they havent forgotten me, they didnt push me to the side as "just another patient" and thats what makes all the difference in the world.
