Good morning after the big Northeast storm. It didn't amount to much on Cape Cod, but did set records in Boston. Unbelievably our 11:15 am flight is on-time and at the gate!

QOTD: To me success is completely around long-term maintenance. I lost many times over my lifetime only to regain more than I lost every time. I was always either gaining weight or on a diet (usually the former). The last 13 months of maintaining in my range is the first time in my life that I have been able to do so.

1 year, 9 months post-op

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Protein bar

D: ????

S: Broad beans

Picture is of the pretty downtown of the town we live in on Cape Cod:

Hi guys,

It's super cold here, -27 C, with a wind chill of -37 C (which is -34.6 F for my US friends). So stupid cold, and dangerously cold, with the wind. I can't leave the house when it's this bad as it triggers my asthma right away, so I'll either ride my exercise bike or play some active Kinect games today.

QOTD: I haven't read the post yet, but I define my success as a number of things, watching the scale go down, getting to wear smaller sizes, feeling more comfortable with myself, and lack of pain while walking, etc. I love how I can ride my bike without needing my asthma meds, and really miss my bike. Winters are too long here in Northern Ontario, Canada.

Accountability: Terrible! My family had yet another unplanned party last night and the house was full of chips, cheesies, pizza, cookies, cake, pie, Italian pastries, etc. I was pretty good until I sat at the couch talking to my cousin. Without thinking I ate some chocolate and OMG, I felt awful after. I didn't eat a lot, but it wasn't planned or wanted, I just ate it unthinkingly...no idea why as I wasn't even craving it.

Breakfast: decaf with premier protein, cheese string, clementine

Lunch: chicken

Supper: garlic shrimp

Snack: pepperette, cheese string, clementine

*if urge to eat some of the zillions of left over party treats arises, I will have either a Quest peanut butter cup, quest chips, or sugar free gummies (0 carb, high fibre). I am so sick of having foods I can't have in the house!

Photos: Me at Christmas, snowy walk the other day when it was warm enough to go out and still breathe (-11).

I hear you on the mindless eating- we've all been there. Being aware is the key though. I've noticed my youngest eats mindlessly- he can sit and eat while doing something else and not even realize how much he's eating. I have to help him with it as he's already struggling with weight.

Thanks, Teena. Yeah, mindless for sure. If I would have been thinking at all, I wouldn't have eaten that.I know I can't have chocolate. I didn't even realize what I had done until it was in my mouth already.
