Easy, Flavorful Spicy Tuna Salad

If you like spicy tuna rolls at your favorite sushi hangout, you are going to love this easy and delicious spicy tuna salad recipe by Kristen McCaffrey of Slender Kitchen. This salad has all of the yummy flavors of your favorite spicy tuna roll but is made with canned tuna. You can enjoy this salad on cucumber slices, celery stalks, on top of a salad, as a sandwich or wrap…the list goes on! Another great thing about this recipe is that if you don’t like canned tuna, you can use a different protein. Kristin shares that this salad recipe works with chicken, salmon, cooked shrimp, tofu, chickpeas, and even hard boiled eggs! This tasty recipe takes just a few minutes to make and is perfect for a hot summer day when you just don’t feel like cooking. Enjoy!

Spicy Tuna Salad

Makes 4 servings


  • 15 oz canned tuna
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 3 tbsp reduced fat mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha (adjust to taste, this is spicy)
  • 2 tsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos for GF)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Make the dressing by combining the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, Sriracha, soy sauce, and rice vinegar in a bowl. Taste and adjust as needed. If you aren't sure about the spice, start with a small amount and add as you go. It's easy to make it spicier if needed.
  2. Add the tuna, celery, and green onions. Stir to combine. Taste and season as needed.
  3. Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes for the flavors to really combine if possible.
