Turkey Kielbasa and Sweet Peppers Skillet Recipe

You can typically find kielbasa sausage at most grocery stores where you might find hot dogs or other pre-packaged meats.

For this recipe, you can buy a bag of miniature sweet bell peppers. If your store doesn’t carry the small bell peppers, you can buy larger red, yellow and/or orange bell peppers and cut them into strips.

Turkey Kielbasa and Sweet Peppers Skillet Recipe

Prep time: 5 minutes; Cook time: 10 minutes; Total time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 turkey kielbasa sausage sliced
  • 2 cups mini sweet bell peppers seeded and quartered
  • 1 small yellow onion sliced

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet to medium heat.
  2. Meanwhile, slice the turkey sausage, peppers, and onions. Add just the peppers and onions to the skillet first. Saute for about 3 minutes.
  3. Add turkey sausage to the skillet, cook until heated through, stirring occasionally. This will be about 5-8 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and serve.

One portion of Turkey Kielbasa and Sweet Peppers Skillet is approximately one cup. This recipe makes 4 servings. Serving sizes vary based on ingredients used. Steph recommends eating two bites of protein to one bite of the vegetables, stopping at the first sign of fullness and allowing your body to tell you the correct portion for yourself.
