Question about long runs....

I have my first 1/2 scheduled in September.  My last long run was 9 miles this past Saturday.  I have a 10 mile long run in 2 weeks.  I am planning on running a 5K that morning with my son.  It is the Elvis Presley 5K that is planned during Elvis Week, in Memphis.  It is going to be a ball....the are lots of running Elvi  (Yes, that is the correct southern plural of Elvis)  So anyway,  should I reschedule my long run for another day or run an additional 7 miles that evening?  I usually schedule my rest days before and after my long runs, but if I feel ok, could I do my long run the next day?    I have no time goal for this race.  Its my first one, so my only goal is to arrive uninjured and finish uninjured.  I havent had any physical problems so far.  Any thoughts???

In the past I ran 3 miles before a half marathon on a day that I was supposed to do 16 miles. Worked out well for me to do it before but your cir****tances are different with a 5k on a 9 mile day. I still might try to get it in before.

I have seen a  few articles recently about breaking up the long run days.

Where the athletes are doing a  couple runs during the day instead of one long run.

So what I'm getting at is count your 5k run as part of your long run day.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
