Topic: RE: Weekly Workouts

So today was the day - was supposed to fence in two tournaments - women at 9 am and mixed at 1 pm. I got the fencing club at 8:15 an no one else (other than my coach and the other referee) were there. Waited til 9:30. No morning bout. (Have no idea where the other registered folks went, but . . .) Came back to the club at noon to warm up for a 1 pm mixed veteran (40+) event.

I did not do as well as I hoped, but I achieved some goals, learned and had fun. Back to the grind.

Monday - Fencing 2 hours

Tuesday - Meetings in the evening. Maybe I can get a daytime workout in, but I'm not hopeful.

Wednesday - Fencing 2 hours

Thursday - Gym - weights and agility

Friday - Work and tickets to a show - so not much happening then

Saturday - Maybe gym or bike ride if weather permits

Sunday - rest (unless I can find a fencing tourney within 100 miles of my house.)

Hope everyone has a good week.

Keep on losing!

Topic: Beginner's Running Group -NoVA/DMV

HI Gang,

This will be a cross post.

If you live in the NoVa or DMV area and want to take up running, there is a new Meetup.com group called BEGINNER RUNNER LADIES OF NOVA.

They are having their first practice run at Aurora HIlls Branch library. It is free to join the group. From what I understand, it will be run/walking.

"where we'll run together. We will be running/walking 3 miles, but if that's too long for you, you're welcome to join us for less!"

Arlington Practice Run

Aurora Hills Branch Library I will be there if you want a friend/companion to talk to (I hate going places alone myself!). Best wishes! -SS

Keep in mind every efforts you put on gives an out out, but importantly always keep balance between the efforts you are putting in and what your body can bear.

I would suggest you to walk twice daily with moderate speed, dont try to run even you can run. it would be Beneficial for your body to have in motion to burn your fats. So for the first month just go with normal jogging after than put some extra efforts so that your body get used to of it

Topic: RE: excess skin and working out

I did a HIIT class at the gym tonight and my excess abdominal skin looked like it contained an alien life form as I jumped, etc. Even through my shirt, I could see it sloshing around. My bat wings also make funny clapping sounds when I run.

As soon as I get to goal, I'm going to see about getting the excess skin removed. If only this last 30lbs wasn't so hard to lose.

Always keep in mind, put that much burden on your body that it can bear easily, for fat loss treadmill run, track jogging and running are best but there are lot of other things that can burn your fat as faster as these activities can do.

Follow some tips to burn your fats.

1) make habit of chewing gum, it burns your calories

2) Try to take green tea twice a day

3) Drink plenty of water as it help to improve your digestive system

4) Control your daily diet and try to reduce your meal intake day by day

5) Do swimming 2 or 3 times per week

I've just started to get those "slaps" of noise from my bat wings! It surprises me each time it happens... I'm going to look up the compression wraps for sure!

My biggest problems are the bat wings. As in inches and inches hanging and flapping under toned arms. Did I mention that I fence - as in en garde? So all I hear is the flapping sound of the excess skin against my body? So, for the last three months, I've been using ace bandages to wrap my biceps to stop the flapping. I've found a wonderful place -- Body Helix https://bodyhelix.com/ - they are in NC - they make compression wraps for the bicep tricep area. OH. MY. GOD. Life changing. Not cheap, but life changing.

I also find I prefer work out bottoms with some compression - usually Nike or Fila with a high waist.

But the bat wing wraps are worth every damn penny.
