Hi gals,
I'm almost 13 weeks with my first and 17 months post VSG. I've lost 5lbs in the first tri, not a big deal as I'm still 20lbs over my ideal weight. The problem is I'm rarely hungry and can eat about 3/4 cup at a time. The Dr wants me at 2300 calories in the 2nd tri and I have no freakin clue how I'm going to reach it other than high fats like pb, avocado, etc.
Has anyone struggled with this? Any suggestions? I thought about going to GNC to see if they have those high calorie shakes people use to gain weight. Would love your thoughts!
Sounds pretty normal. I used to get stopped in my tracks by the "knife in my vagina" at the end of both my pregnancies.
Water breaking is different for everyone. For some, it is like a cork popping and a gush, for others a slow trickle, and for most, it gets broken by the doc. Congrats on your first pregnancy, and good luck on the 16th!
Hi everyone, I have a few questions i would like to ask. I am having shooting pains in my private area usually right after cramping in my stomach. is this normal or should i be worried? I am 8 months pregnant and having a c section on the 16 due to a hip replacement i had done in oct. Also i know this may sound stupid but this is my first time being pregnant but other then a big gush of water coming out how does it feel when your water breaks? Thank you for reading this.
Thanks! I talked with my husband and we are going to proceed with the testing. I cannot keep putting it off if I want kids.
PCOS myself and don't ovulate without hormonal treatment (in this case it was femara after clomiid didn't work) and just gave birth a month ago today. I'm 37.
Congrats...our bodies like to trick us...just when you have decided you are ok with what you have....bam...life throws in a surprise! I also always wanted 3/4 babies...DH says 2 is it...we will see who wins! :). I was hoping this pregnancy would be multiples...although I think my husband would have freaked! Lol!
How exciting...there will be time to fix mommy's body later...enjoy your little ones while you can!

I can't really speak for myself on this since I don't/didn't have PCOS and I had my RNY 9 years ago...(at age 20 and pre babies), but have read a lot of others stories and losing weight does help increase fertility! 36 isn't old to have babies...and with the weight loss...I think you would have a very good chance at successful pregnancies...pending no other health issues you may have! (But I am not a Dr. nor do I know your history...just going by what I have read about others)
I just turned 30 and am almost 35 weeks with my second post-op baby!
I hope you get the results you are looking for! Best of luck to you!

I am considering RNY surgery and am 34. I really want to have children and I know I will need to wait 18 months before trying. That will put me at about 36. Has anyone had success with pregnancy at this age in the group??
I have PCOS so I do not ovulate. My doctor is hoping with weight loss I will begin to ovulate on my own again. I have tried Clomid and did have good sized follicles. So everyone seems to think after surgery my issues should be gone.
Thanks.
