Topic: Blood test frequency?

I am 7 weeks pregnant, almost 2 years RNY post-op, and recently had my first OB/GYN visit.  At that visit, I was given a list of the tests that would occur at which points.  At no time will any blood tests be ordered that will measure my protein/iron/vitamin levels.

I know that my surgeon's office will order them if I request.  My question is, did you monitor your nutritional levels during pregnancy, and if so, how often or when should I get them run?

Thanks!

Topic: RE: Prenatal Vitamin question

I'm just taking a store brand prenatal (Rite Aid) with my regular Centrum multi.  My surgeon's office wanted to make sure I continue to take one multi, as the prenatals don't have everything we need (I have an RNY).

Topic: UPDATE

Well Dr. was shocked but baby was still very high and in right corner; he thought for sure she was head down and he was feeling butt; however, ultrasound proved him wrong.  We have set the date for Monday to try to turn the baby first.  At min we are hoping to get he baby down some to be able to pull out easier if csection is necessary.  If successful full head down turn, they will induce; if unsuccessful, I will head to csection....so only 5 more days until I meet this little soccer player that has been in my ribs for 39 weeks!

Hope everyone is have a good day!  Stacey

Topic: Pregnant and have to do 3 hour glucose test

I am 10 years post op and pregnant.  I just found out that I need to have the three hour glucose test.  I tolerated the 1 hour glucose test just fine with no issues and have done so twice during this pregnancy.  Even being 10 years post op I do sometimes get sick to my stomach if I have to much sugar.  Has anyone ever done the 3 hour glucose test and not had any problems?

Topic: RE: 2 Months Post-Op and Possibly Pregnant!
Hi. I'm 13w pregnant and 14w postop RNY. I was also on bcp to regulate my periods so this baby was a complete shock! At my first trimester screening yesterday, the baby measured on time and was very active. Just eat small meals and be diligent taking your vitamins and you should do fine. The best of luck to you!

Wow thank you so much for all the replies!

I am seriously sitting here at work reading these posts and cracking up on "baseball bat boobs" lol that's awesome!

I took the test Saturday and it was negative my period is late by two days, but that's not so unusual for me as I was on cycle day 36 last month when my period finally showed up.  I think I will wait a few more days and if nothing by Friday I will re test.

Thanks again girls :)
