Mom to Haleigh born 04/14/10 and Dylan 05/15/12
am a little over 2 years post op. I have a 6mth old baby. I was doing great on my diet prior to getting pregnant, not eating any carbs. When I was pregnant the doctor told me to add some carbs (I forgot how good they were) I only gained 21 lbs while pregnant, 2 weeks after I had her I was back down to my regular weight. Now I have gained 23 lbs. I feel hungry all the time and I know my portions are bigger. How do I get back on track without being hungry all of the time. I know a lot of my hunger is boredom, I need to get active, but I have a bone disease and having issues right now and cant really be active. Please help. I need it.
Congratulations! The timing may be less than ideal, but after 8 years of trying, what an amazing surprise!
I got pregnant with my first post op pregnancy when I was 6 months out from surgery. I was a lightweight going in to it, so when I was 6 months and about 10 lbs from goal I decided to go off birth control and see what happened. I got pregnant right away. I didn't lose any weight while pregnant, but I didn't have a ton to lose at that point anyway. I gained 18 lbs (compared to 22 during my preop pregnancy). I lost all of that within two weeks of giving birth and continued to lose another 10 or so over the next 6 months without really trying. I'm pregnant again and this time I've already gained 16 lbs and I'm only 23 weeks, eek! Right now, just focus on hydration and nutrition and the rest of the weight you wanted to lose can always be addressed later, you'll do great I'm sure.
Good luck!
Hello,
I am six weeks as of yesterday. I go for my first ultrasound on 11/26/13. I am so excited and so is my husband. We have told the immediate family on his side but not on my side except my brother. I am waiting to tell my side because I want to tell my mother in person. I go pick her up on the same day I have my ultrasound so she can spend the thanksgiving holiday with us. So I plan on showing her my ultrasound picture to break the news to her. She will be over the moon. I haven't really had any pregnancy symptoms except a little cramping and breast tenderness and I can't sleep at night. One issue I do have that I am surprised about is that I already cannot fit into any of my jeans/pants. The buttons will not meet. I know its just bloating and not the baby but I was not expecting to have to buy clothes this soon. I am glad I just started working from home so I am going to purchase me some lounge wear or leggings with big shirts. Anyhoo hope all is well with everyone. I just wanted to check in. I will update the results of my first ultrasound.
That is awesome. I tried Clomid, Femara and IUI and neither was successful. I got pregnant the one month I skipped.
I don't have any experience getting pregnant that soon after surgery however I just wanted to say congratulations.
used it for six months up to 150 mg with no results other than a significant mood change.
doc switched me to femara. got pregnant with IUI first attempt afterwards
I got pregnant with my first post op baby just 5 months post op after a loss of 120 pounds. I was only down to 265 before I got pregnant. I lost 35lb in the first 21 weeks and started gaining for the remainder of the pregnancy, but only managed to gain back 10lb of what I lost by the time I had my son. Got down to 226lb after baby was born and found out 5 months post partum that I was pregnant again...
This time I lost 21 pounds in the first half of my pregnancy and then started gaining. I have, so far, gained back 18 of what I initially lost. I am now 30 weeks pregnant.
It's hard to be pregnant so soon after surgery, but congrats on your blessing!
