Its not a weight thing, my old boss at work had the worse apnea possible, even had apnea surgery. He was about 6`3 and 145lbs, I think our is weight related, but Im just trying to show you thats not the only reason. You can beat this, and more than likely with wls it will go away. I wish the best for you..

James I know you are right, but I gotta tell you that I was told 1 week ago that I needed to wear this machine and when I picked it up I cried all the way home, I have been embarrassed many times about my weight, but this was the first time that I was reduced to tears.

I absolutely hate it  - and to make things worse I am even more tired using the damn thing than I was without it.  I don't get more than 1/2 hours sleep then I am awake feeling like I am about to suffocate. My dh tells me that he hears me gasping now but never did before I got it.  I can't stand anything on my face so I am always pulling it off while I am sleeping.

So all I can hope is that  I will be one of the lucky ones who no longer need it after I have my wls cause I don't know what I am going to do if this is permanent.

It's not how many times you fall that matters, it's how many times you get back up

Hi there

OHIP pays a fair chunk of the cost ($750) and if you are on social assistance they will cover the rest.

Check out  your insurance info.

Topic: I can't stand my Cpap Machine!!!
I have Claustrophobia and I have a difficult time wearing my mask. I need to have a full face mask because I'm a mouth breather. I wonder if I should try other masks out.

I also have night sweats which only makes the mask more uncomfortable. I try but never seem to beable to keep the mask on all night.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm gonna have to try the nasal pillows. I can't stand my nose freezing all night. My CPAP has a heater for the water but my nose still freezes.

I had the same problem until I changed masks to nasal pillows instead.  The pillows is much easier to use for me than the mask that goes over the nose.
