If your hair is long enough, you can put it in a ponytail. Then be sure the straps are below the tail which will stop it from coming off your head.

Well dear, I'm over 70 . . . in fact I will be 72 on Feb 12th. My picture was taken appprox. 3 years ago when I was half way skinny, and that is where I want to be again. I get compliments often that I do not look my age . .. . let those compliments keep coming. All the while I am thinking to myself, "wait til they see me at my goal weight", then watch out, you ole geezers out there, this old lady will knock your socks off . . LOL

I am a lot older than you, and old people snore to beat the band, but I hope you are right, and I won't have to depend on it anymore.
Topic: RE: HELP PLEASE
After about 9 months following my surgery, I had a repeat sleep study performed. At that point, the doctor decided I no longer needed a cpap. She waited until my weight loss slowed and seemed stable before doing the repeat sleep study. You too can hang it up!
Topic: RE: HELP PLEASE
How did you get off the CPAP? I am planning on having a lap band procedure, and I wonder is there a chance I might be able to hang it up (the machine)?

Instead of the nose mask, they suggested I use the full mask. I got it in June 2007, and I am just now getting used to it. I never had it come off, it would just leak air. But, something happened where it doesn't do that anymore. If I am laying on my side, and it starts to leak, I just put my hand to it and hold it in place - that seems to work. Now, I wouldn't be without it. I can sleep for a solid 8 hours a night at times, not every night, but most nights. I would suggest the full mask.
Topic: sleep study
So I had my sleep study last night and the lab tech told me this morning that my apnea wasn't
"that" bad. They gave me an ambien to sleep...knocked me out cold for a few hours. I scored a 3 and at 5 you need cpap. My sats dipped into the 80's and I had a few non-breather spells. I'm glad its not bad, just hope the insurance doesn't rate it and just says..."she has sleep apnea" end of story. Anyone have experience with this?
Topic: RE: time frame for getting a CPAP
They did my sleep study in one night also. Sometime during they night my tech came in and put the mask on me. My insurance will only pay for one sleep study per lifetime, so they have to get it in one shot. They said I kept waking up so they couldn't determine what level the machine should be set on so I got a machine that adjusts to my breathing during the night. It also has a card in it that reads it and I will take the card in two weeks and my doc can determine the air level, I guess is what that is - how hard the air blows? Anyway, I went straight from the appointment to the medical supply place and picked up my machine. It has a humidifier also.
I may ask my doc if I can keep this self-adjusting machine since I plan to have WLS soon and believe my numbers will change as I lose weight.
