20 lbs. for DH Liz! That is awesome! Using GLP 1s is definitely not the easy way though! Just another tool for those whose brains don?t give us the correct messages!
123.9. Back up a bit! Got in just over 1400 calories yesterday!
DH worked his last day today! Yay! We are celebrating with su****onight and tomorrow head to Door County!

I had lunch with my neighbor yesterday. It was fine and we parted on good terms, but I feel vaguely gaslit and like she still doesn't get that she was in the wrong. Lots of comments suggesting I overreacted (I did not) and flat out denial of saying she called me vindictive. She said she called the HOA vindictive. I clarified "you said "you and the board..." she laughed it off saying I should read too much into her texts. Hence the gaslighting feeling. So the relationship will be neighborly civil, but I am not interested in being close friends with her.
I did something crazy and put my name on the list for a puppy with Kirby's breeder. Boy or girl doesn't matter much to me, but the boy waitlist is out to late 2025/early 2026. A girl would potentially be late summer. So I said a girl would be fine. It's not fun going through peak babyhood at Christmas/in the snow. So we'll see... he really does need a friend.
Not much else going on here. Hope you all are well.
Today is the one month mark prior to our departure! We leave on June 8 for Amsterdam!
119 - shot day. My 1 mg of tirzepatide twice a week works perfectly for me to keep my cravings away. DH says medication is not for him - it's the "easy" way but when that bothers me he says it isn't a criticism of me but just how he needs to do it. Weird and maybe true, maybe not (the criticism part). Regardless he is down over 20 pounds now and about at the weight when I met him. He wants to lose a bit more. I'm guessing his height is similar to Peps and though his weight is about 10 pounds less he does not look as fit as Peps. His arms and legs are muscular because he focuses on them at the gym but he doesn't do any core work. He has had some sciatica issues so he really ought to add core which he agrees with but it has never been in his routine. For most of his life he has lifted weights for his arms and done the elliptical for his legs and cardio and that's it. DH and I were discussing his workout routine this morning and he says he is waiting to add core work for when he is thinner.
Today is a mostly unstructured day so unlike DD I can wear whatever LOL. Justice/Moby walk, probably the beach, something for dinner (unplanned so far), then Moby gets picked up for his ride home. His parents are missing him like crazy but he is really settling in here a bit. Dogs are so adaptable especially if you treat them well. But I am sure he will be overjoyed to see his family! If Moby leaves early enough we may go to a pickleball competition here between local pros. Our pro just won the bronze metal in the Pickleball US Open.
Have a thirsty Thursday!

I forgot that plus of not having to dress for work! For years I had suits and blouses that I literally rotated through. Then when we went business casual it was black or grey pants or skirts with similar toned cardigans and the gauntlet of blouses carried forward. Felt like a uniform! Of course then I had to have the proper shoes and jewelry. Essentially all of that clothing was donated long ago. Once retired you can put on what suits your mood, your activities of the day, and the weather.
Maybe that's why I have so many clothes!!! I probably spend close to the same amount of money on clothing as when I worked but it is all fun stuff now. And since I do a lot of consignment stuff it isn't super expensive. I'm waiting for a Poshmark straw bag this week.

Liz, you can definitely see your DH has lost weight in the recent photos you've posted.
Paula, your weekend getaway sounds perfect for a dual celebration. Congratulations on a milestone birthday and retirement!
Peps, you're less than 2 months away from retirement trip. When it was cancelled during Covid, did you ever think you would get here?
Diane, a year of giving yourself a great gift of consistent exercise. Congratulations!
We continue our run of great weather here. DBIL is in Fort Lauderdale and when we talked with him last night we were both enjoying 82 degrees. They however had the ocean in front of them.
Today I thought of something else I'm looking forward to in retirement: not having to guess what I should wear based on the weather forecast. I've already laid out my clothes for tomorrow, but I won't know the true weather until I'm on my way to work. And then there's the indoor weather courtesy of the air conditioning system. When I'm retired, if I'm wrong, I can change outfits and carry on. If the air conditioning is too low or not enough, I won't be trapped there for over 8 hours.
DH is watching a horror movie at a friend's house. I had chili prepared by my good friend Wendy. I thought about following Anne's lead and taking myself out for a nice meal, but turns out I was too lazy to do anything but a drive through :)
The dreaded laundry. Things that are already accumulating while I arm doing them annoy me: laundry, dishes and dirt/dust in the house. Even when you are done for the day there is already more to done the next time!
