DH and I had the best time meeting up with Peps. Highly recommend. :) I posted several pictures on TT when I got home (we shut the place down!) but they are still pending. That hasn't happened to me before? New phone perhaps? Hopefully Ocean Diane will see it and work whatever admin magic is needed to make them appear.
Or Peps, if you see this, maybe they will post for you?
118.2 - sticking here for the last few days. Funny how I was preferring 119-120, but now am nervous at 118.2 because it is higher than I was hovering for a few weeks. Weird how the mind works.
Hoping for pictures on TT of Peps and DD's meetup! Of course they got along famously!
No beach yesterday as when we arrived there (on the National Seashore/ocean side) it was cloudy and windy. Too bad we didn't stay another hour or so because the clouds did clear up. But we did watch the water for a few minutes. Amazing how massive the waves were and how far up the beach the water went. Hopefully no one ventured in to swim.
We did go to the music venue, then out to a close by restaurant to have hearty appetizers as our meal. I had amazing tuna tartare - so, so tasty and a huge serving.
Since we didn't eat the leftovers yesterday, they are our meal for tonight. Lobster salad for me with a couple of caprese tomato slices and corn on the cob. Yum!
Daytime plans are unknown - right now it is drizzly out though it is supposed to clear by midday. Justice will have to wait for his long walk.
Have a mindful Monday!

Sounds like you have had a great trip (other than the heat and traffic). The absence of the latter upon your return home will help you appreciate where you live all the more.

While your former coworkers are working in their classrooms, you are working on your packing. Yay! Good idea to have notes and reminders of all last minute stuff to pack/to do prior to your trip.

Greetings all
quick check in. Spent the day with family and had a good talk with nephew. Baby continues to be adorable last night was music and games. Dh family is the von trapp family and they are all so gifted. Major talent. Today we saw the new naked gun movie. Kind of lame. theatre had those recliner seats! New to me and very nice. Only in America. I got us Indian food which was also excellent. We leave tomorrow at 1 and will be good to get home. Hate la heat and traffic.
more when I have a keyboard. Have fun all.

Getting ready to leave the house in about 2 hours to go meet up with Peps. On this unusually cool August day.
Liz your evening sound very nice. Not surprised your BIL enjoys hanging out with your DH, he is an easy person to chat with. We also got much better sleep with no drag racing sounds echoing through the neighborhood.
Paula, letting go of your winter clothes! That makes it all the more real you are Florida bound.
I think I've finished up most all of the travel details, having made all the ground transportation reservations, and bought most tours and attraction tickets that needed to be purchased ahead of time because they sell out. Just to make things more fun, I got a new phone yesterday because my old one just wasn't going to cut it anymore. But that did add some more twists. I needed to add the Uber app again. In my hurry, I did not notice there are 2 apps: one to buy rides and one to contract to be a driver. Guess which one I picked? It linked with my account and I was so confused, when it asked if I wanted to earn with Uber, I thought it was some kind of loyalty points program. But then I thought, these are weird questions! Finally figured it out. I am not a technology whiz, that's made clear to me everyday.
Mostly packed now too, just need to add the few things that will be washed this week because they are currently being worn. I put post it notes in my suitcase so I don't forget to add them.
I cut a nice bouquet from my Zinnias. Could be my last one. They might still be blooming when I get back on the 22nd, but it gets less likely because we start losing so much light. And there's always the chance of an early frost.
Friends are posting pictures of their classroom set ups ( all work they're doing unpaid of course). Workshop week starts tomorrow. It is with profound wonder and gratitude that I keep reminding myself, not me. It ain't me babe. And it also feels wondrous I will travel most of September.

Peps and DD meet up today! Pictures please!
Yesterday was family time for several of us! Our gathering worked out great. DH and BIL get along well which made BIL want to stay which is quite unusual for him. Lots of good New England food and ill SIL ate more than me. She is working hard at getting her weight up. Right now her newest lung cancer treatment is working well but her back is the problem. The pain is really debilitating for her though it is osteoporosis related not cancer. Her oncologist had another MRI done recently on her back to be sure.
We had a fire in the pit after dinner - our company stayed until 8! We tried to watch TV afterwards but I crashed and fell asleep on the couch around 9. So about 9 full hours of sleep last night mostly made up for the sleeplessness of Friday night.
Today looks like a beach day though probably without any swimming because we still have rip current warnings. We may go to the music venue directly from the beach. Potentially leftovers tonight as we have quite a bit left from yesterday including 2 slices of caprese salad from farmstand tomatoes, corn from the same stand, and I have enough lobster to make lobster salad.
But first the bus leaves for breakfast at 7:30, followed by our Justice walk. Have a superlative Sunday!
