Greetings all

Yet another sunny day. No clouds. I did my gym walking and listened to Taylor Swift and some Dua Lipa. Good stuff. Who knew I would ever like music not from the 60's. I also did some gallery banking as there was a lot of stuff piled up. The next mission is to go through some boxes of papers to find my Dads military record. Brother keeps bugging me about it so he can get USAA insurance. Our dad died 30plus years ago so I don't have much. I have half a notion to tell him to come here and sort through this stuff but it won't kill me to do it.

Hi CC congrats on getting Kirby coifed. Sounds like a serious project. Remind me I need to take my two to a groomer. No way can I do that anymore. Wishing you safe travels south and no scorpions on arrival.

Party sounds great Liz. Kids that age are always a hoot. Hope the niece recovers from what is bothering her. Not fun.

DD is marked safe from goose poop! Glad the Neil Diamond musical was good. You guys really have so much great theater there. Enjoy more.

Paula, any house news?

Maybe more quesadillas tonight. This time with refried beans.

Crap I have a doctor apt later in the week and forgot the blood draw. Fasting labs tomorrow. I hate doing that on a Monday.

Cheers all.

Diane S

Rats, I erased my own post, I can't blame it on OH. So computer literate.

The stellar weather is changing back to something closer to normal. It's overcast, and drizzling on and off. Probably felt good for people running the Twin Cities Marathon today.

I made a deep dive into Brazil trip planning today. it took awhile to figure out how to get to a somewhat off the beaten trail beach that looks so sensational. DH does not want to rent a car, that would be the easiest, and totally safe in this part of Brazil, but if he doesn't want to, I understand. The next choice was a coach bus (also safe) but the only one is overnight. It's got lay down seats that are actually pretty comfortable, but ti arrives at 5am! Not sure what we do in this little town at 5am while we wait to be able to check in to our little inn. So the closest airport is about 1.5 hours away from said beach. This has actually turned out to be an option: $100 per roundtrip ticket, and get this, an Uber from the airport to a beach 60 miles away is about $40.00. DH asked me to check, and I thought, nah, that's going to be way expensive. but it will work.

The show last night was great because of the music. The storyline tying the music togehter was kind of weak, and to my thoughts even a bit tedious, but all the Neil Diamond songs were, as my kids would say, bangers. The lead actor sounded just like Neil Diamond without spilling over into any kind of parody.

Tonight is a Doll House. No sing alongs of Sweet Caroline here, but a murky, darky Swedish tale. It's getting great reviews. Probably resonates with all the Scandinavians here. : )

83 here yesterday and 80 today. Crazy to see people swimming in Lake Michigan a week into October!

The summer went by fast, and then it occurred to me not really, it IS October after all. With this extra warm weather my brain still thinks it's July. Safe trip home!!

Hi everyone, happy Sunday.

I'm getting ready to return to AZ tomorrow. Kirby just got his bath and blowdry. Jiminy Christmas, he makes the latter part a horrendous experience. He treats it as Dog Wrestlemania with teeth and claws. He has a fabulous time and I'm wiped out and in pain...

It's been a good summer, but I am ready to go home. I've been reading your posts daily, just haven't been in much of a mood to post. Glad you all are well and having fun!

117.8 - always shocks me when I gain 1.4 pounds in a day. The apple cider donut was worth it though ;)

Lots of driving yesterday but that was worth it too. Great dinner followed by cake and ice cream at my nephew's home afterwards. Nice family gathering and my great-nephew was in fine form. A very active, handsome almost 5 year old. He brought us up to see his room which is wall to wall matchbox cars, LOL. The only downside was that my niece was very uncomfortable as she thought her breast was infected and was going to the ER after we left. It was on the side where she had a mastectomy, then a breast implant. Seems like she can't cut a break.

Today is more driving to meet people but not nearly as far. We are going an hour away to my former town to meet some friends and eldest DD at a winery this afternoon, followed by dinner with 2 other couples, SIL, and DD. We had wanted to get together with them all summer. It is supposed to be another beautiful day like yesterday with temperatures in the 70s.

Have a sunny Sunday!

Have you mentioned considering the meds with your doctor? I got support from both my north and south doctors on it but I had already been using it for quite a while with no negative side effects when I talked to them about it. A friend who needs to drop quite a bit of weight is getting pushback from her own, relatively young doctor based on his distrust of them. It isn't due to anything specific for her healthwise. We all know they have some negative side-effects we have to watch out for, but they aren't that common. Right now her need to get some weight off to improve her high blood pressure seems to be pretty important and like many of us she just hasn't been successful at dropping weight any other way.

I would think it is still worth packing as long as you leave things functional enough for you to live there and neat enough to show the house. You need to do it eventually anyway, so might as well continue while on a roll.

It sounds like an idyllic day by the lake. Lucky you going to the theatre two nights in a row!
