Home from the Art Fair but all my crap still needs to be unloaded from the cars. That will be a job for tomorrow!
The art fair went quite well. I sold a big metal print each day and lots of cards and some smaller matted prints. I also saw quite an increase in traffic to my Etsy site which is another goal of Art Fairs! Hopefully that will translate to some sales!
Liz, safe travels. Glad you were able to get all the clothes in your suitcase. Congrats to DH on surpassing his weight goal.
DD, love your retirement musings! You are going to love it!

Ann, so glad you stayed safe on the roof. If you were my Mom, you would have gotten a scolding. Kudos to the you two for physically being able to do such things!
CC, glad Kirby is doing better after the big snip. Our little ones had to wear the cone of shame for just a little bit and did rather well with a baby onesie covering the incision.

I have lived in the same small house for 38 years! Crazy to think once in my early 20s, in the span of 14 months I moved 5 times!!! As a kid growing up, I never lived in a house longer than 4 years. Some were only a couple of months. As young people, I think my parents were restless, and their financial lives improved drastically, so we kept getting nicer homes (and furniture and cars).
I find it hard to think of moving now too. Especially with DHs "collections" of nonsense. But maybe it would do us good? I even find it hard to think of updating, which we truly need to do. Where do you put all the furniture when you need to move it to replace the carpet? At any rate, no matter how shabby this little house it has been fully ours for many years, so we'll be keeping it :)
Beautiful! Moving is overrated - people here in Florida do way too much of it.

Greetings all
Quite sunny here for day 2 of the big race. They go into the bay today. I will watch on youtube. No crowds for me. I had leftover Mexican food for breakfast. A great start! After some dilly dallying I got most of the rest of the deck plants potted. The goal is so I can sit in my regular chair and gaze out across the deck filled with flowers and enjoy the vista of birch trees against the evergreen forest. I really enjoy this view which is only marred by the remains of the back neighbor's swing set. Wish I could go plant a wisteria on it but oh well.
One reason I think I will pass on the open house is that while it backs up to a creek, it does not have my nice birches. It does have a good yard and landscaping and high end interior finishes but I just can't face all the work of moving. Guess we will stay with our birch trees and cheapo interior stuff. But I am inspired to get new blinds for the slider as our old vertical blinds were ravaged by various puppies who used them as Tarzan swings.
Well Ann if you have power washed a house then you have earned the privilege of owning a glue gun. Glad you have come down off the roof and are safe.
DD I so love your description of retirement living. Imagine it all day every day. Feeling guilty about not being productive does not last terribly long. Plus productivity is redefined - like getting laundry and planting done or doing the grocery shopping counts for a lot.
So we met my studio buddy at a Mexican restaurant last night. It was fun. She is actually seeing a time of moving in to the house she is building (early fall) and the electrical is going in right now. This has been 4 years and I have heard about every minute detail. But it will be nice except she is still insisting on building the kitchen cabinets herself. She knows how and has a stash of very fine wood but it still sounds like trouble. If the bathrooms go in maybe she can move in and work on cabinets at leisure. Sounds nuts to me.
Well Peps you need to practice goofing off more. Still sounds like you are doing plenty. You and DD are on the last curve of the roller coaster!
CC glad Kirby is doing ok. Poor guy. I think the donut neck worked for my male dogs but had to use the jump suit for the girls. They hated it. Hope Kirby's paw thing worked out ok and is not hurting him. Seems like dogs heal up exponentially.
So in spite of my heavy activity in planting four pots, I think I will go to the gym. I summoned the courage to weigh myself today and it was not as bad as I thought but too icky to post here. I also need to glue some slugs on to wine stoppers as I am almost sold out at gallery (Ann this involves a highly sophisticated two part epoxy so popsicle sticks instead of glue gun ).
Liz hope the suit travels well in addition to the two of you.

Sounds like you got a fair amount accomplished! I kick into gear when working off a list. No choice when leaving for 3 months.
Like you, my weight loss last year was without "dieting" - no counting points or calories. The first time in my life that ever was true thanks to tirzepatide. And I continue not counting (though I obviously am weighing). It has been so freeing!
