I've lost count too. I think I have 10. I had my first root canal at 14, and i think I've had 8 total. My parents did not take us to the dentist for cleanings or fluoride treatments, I had my teeth cleaned once when I was 10 years old. I didn't want my kids to go through all this pain so we took them faithfully for cleanings every six months. DD never had a cavity until after using invisalign braces. If we had it to do again, I think we would have gone with regular wire braces. But even if they've both had fillings, neither of them have had root canals or crowns and I hope they never do.
I have lost count of how many crowns I have. 5? 6? Hopefully my kids will avoid this as they grew up with fluoride in the water. By the age when they had their first cavities I already had a mouthful of fillings which I am paying the price for now.
Yes, good Mexican food is always welcome!

203.7 - Same as two weeks ago... Though more than my 201 earlier this week, still my lowest Friday weight. Not sure why it's up, but whatev....
I've mentioned this week that my focus is lacking. I completely forgot to take my shot last night. First time I have completely forgotten. So, I gave it to myself this morning.
I'm really glad I went to the district Retirement Tea. Many of the teachers from the "Golden Era" of my school site of 28 years came. It was wonderful having the old team together. It was comfortable sitting at a huge round table with my peeps - like wearing a favorite old sweatshirt.
I'm done teaching for the day. The only thing I have left to do is prep for the concert this afternoon. Then wrangle the kids and do teh performance. Next week, well... eh... packing up instruments, etc... and then buh bye.
Like DD, I don't miss my "youth", but I have some feels about ending this chapter. There is no real sadness, but a feeling of unknown emptiness lurks beneath the congratulations, good wishes, and hugs.
I'm so looking forward to this weekend AT HOME! I scheduled a massage for tomorrow. Other than that, I am practicing retirement!
Fabulous Finish Up Friday!
Greetings all
More sun and blue sky. The big Kinetic Sculpture race is this weekend. Check it out on you tube or something. It is a hoot. We are too lazy to fight the crowds to go to the start but have done it in the past. Very artsy and silly. There was one sculpture that was a giant pink pony that blew bubbles out its butt.
So Peps, final final. Enjoy and prepare for a whole new world of fun. Congrats on a great career.
DD I too would not turn back time and return to youth. Too much drama. I would lake to go back 10 years and not regain this weight. Thinking fondly of how light I felt - almost like I could fly. But I know what I need to do. JFDI.
Yeah the dentist with tiny hands is a good thing. A few years ago I had a crown in the very back and it took a long time and was not fun. Big handed dentist. The one yesterday is nearer the front. She spent quite a bit of time choosing the color of the crown. I told her to do what she thought. I do not have a toothy grin. Likely more crowns in my future.
Good luck Paula. Have a successful venture.
Studio time this afternoon. I need to make more stuff. Lots of sales this month. Five items in the glaze kiln today. We call Fridays "Fryday" because the kilns run.
DH is on his way to lunch. Mexican so leftovers tonight. We are also going out to dinner with a friend tomorrow night for more Mexican. We actually had two dinner invitations for tomorrow - that never happens to us. Never get tired of Mexican.
Liz glad the water heater is in. Proactive is good. Nothing to worry about during beach days.

One of my friends here in Florida loves limoncello spritz's!

My next ****tail explorations will be Limoncello Spritz, which is made with Prosecco, and a Hugo Spritz, which is Prosecco, St. Germain and lemon juice and soda water. I didn't want to open a bottle of Prosecco with just the 2 of us. :)
125.2. 'Bout the same!
We are all packed to head to Door County! The bus leaves in less than 1/2 hour!
I hope the weather cooperates. It will be on the chilly side but rain should stay away! Hopefully the crowds will still come out for something to do. Even better if they want to spend some money!
We will go out to our favorite Door County restaurant tonight. I think I will try some of their appetizers which look amazing since I had my favorite seafood dish there 2 weeks ago!
Cherry blossoms should be in bloom, so I am bringing my camera but doubt I'll have much time for snapping pics.
Liz, have a great last beach day! Peps, have an absolutely perfect last day with your students! DD, those martinis looked awesome. Thanks for providing the recipe on FB. It's just the kind of drink DH and I enjoy!
Peps and his last day in the classroom! Wow! Decades of teaching and then suddenly no more. A lot of people tell me how envious they are that I'm wrapping it up and I remind them I had to get old first and they still have a lot more time ahead of them than I do. But truthfully, I don't mourn my lost "youth" at all. The years ahead may be fewer, but I am so excited to have more choices about how I will spend them. But even that is not a given. We all know things can change in an instance. So I'm going for it!!! Get it while you can!
Liz, I've had those crowns way in the back of my mouth, and I think it feels a little like being waterboarded. Although, according to one endodontist doing a root canal, I have a roomy mouth. Ah, thanks?
I'm enjoying an ice cold diet coke and then I'm going to go shopping for some bedding plants. Diet coke instead of tea because I'm a bit dehydrated after 2 limoncello martinis last night. They were very good and exactly the type of ****tail I enjoy, sweet/tart in a pretty piece of glassware. I will need to be careful with these!
119.8 - the +.8 was smaller than I thought it would be. For some reason I was super hungry yesterday and felt snacky. I had 2 snacks of 1/2 an English muffin with peanut butter. But my bi-weekly injection was yesterday so hopefully that snackiness should subside today.
Last day of teaching for Peps! Yay! I hope there is at least a mental celebration planned this weekend? I'm so happy that DD figured out a way to have her first days after finishing up be relaxing, not stressful.
The new ho****er heater went in with no difficulty yesterday so now we don't need to worry about potentially flooding out our downstairs neighbors.
Today is the usual Justice walk, yoga, then beach. Likely the last beach day here until at least August. The weather in Massachusetts looks like it is slowly improving. People were posting pictures on FB yesterday of fires roaring to keep warm. It is supposed to be in the low 60's there next week, then we leave a week from tomorrow for Aruba so will be back in warm, sultry weather for another 16 days.
Have a fitting (and final for Peps) Friday!

Good luck at the Art Show! And nice that the weight fell back. It does seem that if we don't keep up with the extra eating that we fall back to where we have been maintaining fairly easily.
