Hello all, it's not the kinda blog you want to share, but it's what I'm dealing with.  Yes I'm having quite a bit of constipation.  I was sleeved on 1/15/14 and currently on pureed foods.  This is a very painful ordeal, my MD & Surgeon both says this will pass.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Yea? What did you do?

Hi OH family,

I was officially sleeved on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.  I am so happy to have finally gotten to this point on my weight loss journey.  My Surgeon Dr. Sasthakonar was absolutely amazing through out the entire time Pre and Post Op.   Once I arrived at the hospital with my husband Chris, we were greeted by the Admitting nurses, who were so very very nice.  They helped ease my anxieties a bit while we sat waiting to be called.  They called me in at about 10:35 AM, which was ok as my appointment was at 10:00 AM.  Once inside I changed, they started the IV and drew some blood in that order.  By this time my anxieties were running sky high and I could feel my eyes swelling.  Yes I'm a cry baby.  I was fine till my Mom, brother and Aunt walked into my room.  Immediately when I saw them I began to cry.....don't ask me why cause I have no Idea.  LOL  After about 15 minutes my OR nurse came in, introduced her self and said the magic words "It's time!"  My family kissed me and My Mom went with me to the holding room.    Next thing I remember is My husband and daughter, Mom & Dad were standing over me saying Hi,  it was the most funnies site ever.  They were all smiles, love these guys!  At this time I was still under the effects of the Anesthesia so I wasn't in any mood for visitors.  I asked for the time and Dad said 5:35 pm...at that point I nodded off and next thing I remember is a nurse waking me telling me about my meds and the plan for the night (Walking every 2 hours).  I had the PCA (Patient Controlled Analgesia), a saving grace!  Still no fluids or anything by mouth.  The next day I continued to beg for Ice chips but not until my MD came in to do an assessment. I believe at about 10:30 am he made an appearance and authorized ice chips and water.  I was excited until the nurse came back with two Dixie cups one with water and one with Ice chips.  SMH...but I was  so grateful that I just took my time and enjoyed the moment as this was the beginning of my uphill battle of my Clear liquid diet for the next 15 days.  I know I haven't been posting as much through my Journey, but I will do my best to keep up with them.  Soooo very happy right now, 

Hey all, I got my surgery date.  It was originally set for December 16th but I missed an appointment.  My new date is January 6th   I'm so excited, this time around.  With my December date I have to admit, I was not feeling this whole thing at all.  I watched video's on YouTube about the "downside" to WLS.  I will be the first to tell ya, don't do it!  Some people can be so negative.  I had to remember their experience isn't mine.  I am and will be successful on my Journey.  While I have so many things going on I have to stay focused on a healthier me.  My Job is on the line, because of downsizing, my Son lost his job down in FL. With my line of work it's not difficult finding a job, just a good one with benefits.

I have a few more blogs I need to put up, I may do them tomorrow as we are expecting a Snow storm here in NY.  Well guys its Friday and I want to go enjoy some Sushi and wine, now while I still can.  Don't judge me, its one of those things, ya know!

Today was a very challenging day at work but I made it thru the day in one piece.    Sitting in my recliner, trying to get my thoughts together.  

Let' me share with you my latest episode of discrimination on big people.  My family and I went to the Halloween store to get costumes for an upcoming Party. I don't usually celebrate Halloween, this year I decided to do more fun and exciting things so this one of many.  I asked the sales girl whom by the way age was close too if not exactly 19, to get me a costume in my size I asked her to bring me 3 different costumes so I could try them on and pick one.  When she returned she handed one of the 3 and of course it was the one I liked least of the three lol. Then she begins to loudly say they do have the other two "WE JUST DON'T HAVE YOUR SIZE.'  When she emphasized my "YOUR SIZE," she pointed at me and said it with disgust.  I said excuse and she with an attitude said again, and a third time this time with a giggle.  My husband responded to her with some not so nice words and I told her that I felt insulted. She so Oh IM sorry and walked away.  Yes this girl insulted me in front of my family and a store full of spectators.  Well of course you know I spoke to the manager and he allowed me to pick any costume I wanted for FREE!  However I wanted an apology from Lil Miss thang and I personally wanted to educate her. 

I'm over it but I just wanted to share it with you all!

Hello all!!

I had to get different insurance to get my appointments for the Surgery.  The Surgeon at the hospital I work at is really nice and patient.  I am meeting with him and his Assistant on next Thursday the 17th to set up my appointments for the swallow, the sleep studies and Physical Trainers.

I am on my way and look forward to this journey.  I will begin doing a video blog of my journey on either Social Cam or YouTube, either way I will let you know.  Thanks and let's share some firsts and lasts together.

I found a doctor and hospital that will do the surgery covered by my United Health Care Community Plan (Medicaid).  I am going to my informational  session on 6/25/2013 and I am meeting with my surgeon on 7/1.  Here we go......stay tuned I promise to post more regularly.

Well after I lost my job.  I lost my medical coverage and now I have Medicaid.  My doctor was working with me before I lost my insurance and had to change to Medicaid.  Now we are beginning the journey of getting this approved. So I'm picking up a referral from him to go see my Bariatric Surgeon on the 16th.  I'm praying I can get this approved.    Has anyone gone thru this process with Medicaid.  I know it's covered, just want to know what it was like getting it approved.

Hello OH I signed up last week and was just browsing the site to see what this is all about.  I am happy to say this site is the bomb!  I didn't want to use the more popular websites like FB or TWTR because people love to judge and tell you how to loose weight .  You know "everybody" is a expert on weight loss.  So here I am.  I'm looking for a newbie group and suggestions on how to get the process started.  Thanks!!
