MET WITH THE SURGEON

I went to Columbus to OSU and met with my surgeon, Dr. Mikami.  He was very nice.  He also tried to talk me into the lap band.  I do not want the band for several reasons, one that I don't want that plastic in me forever, I don't want to take fills and I don't want to have to "fool" the band. 

I was weighed and my height was taken.  As Dr. Mikami came into the room, he looked surprised.  He said, "you're little," and then wanted to know if I was really 5'8".  I corrected him, "that's 58 inches...."   He changed the chart on the computer.  I was measured in height as 4'10 1/2"  -- I've never been that short before.  My BMI was 46!!!!  Yikes. 

Anyway, I gave some blood, asked some questions, had the secretary send the forms for FLMA for my husband and an excuse for my work.  And we were done by 9:30. 

My surgery is a go for March 3.  2 1/2 weeks from now.
