Week 1 is down...

Oct 15, 2010

This week has been super hard for me!  I'm in a constant struggle to get fluids, protein, vitamins, and meds all in during the day.  I've been tired and weak and just want to sleep all day one day, tearful and ranting the next, the feeling almost normal the next...it's definetly an up and down rollar coster.  I have lost 19lbs since the beginning of this process and 12lbs since the day of surgery.  My first wow moment was today when i borrowed a pair of my neighbors maternity pants (cause i dont want the zipper and denim to rub against my staples on my stomach).  Well she is a little smaller than me and handed me a pair of 18 Liz Lange maternity khaki pants...i'm thinking "oh no way liz lange are made small and these aren't even made of a stretchy material!" but i decided to take them home and try them on, and they FIT and not just FIT but were a little bit LOOSE on the butt and thighs and around the waist...holy crap!!! That was amazing to me!  I also got my JP drain pulled out of my side this week.  It was such a weird feeling getting it pulled i couldn't even describe it...not really painful, but uncomfortable.  Once that 15 inches of tubing was out of my body i felt amazingly better, and had better movement in my abdomen.  I can now bend about halfway over, and can sit/stand without as much struggling and pain. I alsol can BREATH better without it in!  I'm still working on walking everyday.  I just get so winded sometimes i can't get more than a lap around the house.  i'm hoping that things improve drastically over the next week.  I'm ready to just be a little more "normal"

tomorrow is my first venture out of the house, we shall see how i do!

Current weight 260lbs
