Dr. Baranov is the best at what he does. His staff is also top notch. The preparation for the procedure was thorough. Dr. Baranov explained the procedure and what I needed to do to be successful completely and in an easy to understand manner. I had gastric bypass and was amazed at how quickly I felt good! My procedure went flawlessly. Dr. Baranov came personally to see how I was doing and spent as much time was was necessary. I never felt he was rushing me. When it was time for discharge, careful, clear explanations about what I needed to do to see continued success in my recovery were given both in person and in written form. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who is considering gastric surgery.

I had gastric bypass 5 days ago. And I feel fabulous. If you are looking for a surgeon Dr. Baranov should be your first (and only) choice. He is meticulous. From the comprehensive introductory seminar to post op follow up, you will be in the absolute best of hands. Everything is thoroughly explained, options are explained, and questions are always answered in depth. The office is run like a well oiled machine. Waiting time is never more than 10 minutes. It is a very busy office but you are always treated as an individual and the office team has always been very responsive.

I am just 5 days post op but 7 months in the Bariatric program with Dr Baranov and his team. I live 1hr south of Saratoga Springs and could have chosen the “big” Albany Hospitals. from dr. baranov to his p.a.'s, nurses, nutritionists and receptionists, the gastric bypass experience at saratoga hospital could not be more professional, accommodating, helpful, friendly, compassionate and caring. the doctor and his support staff truly care about the people they are trying to help. in my six-month run-up to surgery i learned a number of things about my health - besides the strain my weight was putting on my body. his staff set up appointments for me with the local sleep center (found out i have severe sleep apnea); the doctor assigned to address my vericose veins has begun a program to rid me of guaranteed complications; the psychologist visits helped me iron out some issues and make sure i understood the path i must now walk; the numerous discussions with his nutritionists have helped me to understand why i need to eat the way they suggest. none of this would have been brought to my attention or been made available to me without the roadmap provided by dr. baranov and his professional staff. since my surgery i have been contacted by his office on more than one occasion to make sure i am doing ok. when i need info, i have never had to wait for it. i can't shower enough praise on dr. dimitri baranov and the incredible professionals with whom he works. i didn't know what to expect on this lengthy, intense journey. and now that it's over, i can't believe how easy it all was. all the credit goes to the good doctor and his incredible office.

Hello Everyone. I don't normally do these reviews, but I feel that I MUST to one for Dr. Baranov. I originally had the gastric sleeve in 3/2015 (done by another surgeon), and immediately I had severe reflux with projectile vomiting progressing to aspirating GERD. I had multiple procedures done that never cured me only temporarily helped me. Fast forward to 9/2017 when I decided to see my GI doctor, he stated that the only cure for my GERD is to have it revised to the bypass. I reached out to Dr. Baranov, who reviewed and accepted my case and was going to revise my sleeve. He saw that I had severe reflux and agreed with my GI doctor. My revision was scheduled for 1/8/2018. I am 1 week post op and I have no pain, tolerating stage I diet well and ZERO GERD. He has CURED me. I am forever in his debt. He is so knowledgeable, professional and has a good bed side manner. Dr. Baranov actually called me at home to check on me (WOW).....A big THANK YOU goes out to Dr. Baranov, his office staff and the staff (especially Emily) at Saratoga Hospital. I look forward to being able to sleep FLAT again!!! I am forever grateful for his expertise.
