Leo Murphy Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Murphy waw compassionate and understood what I was dealing with. He explained what I would need to do to get prepared for the surgery. He has excellent bedside manner and my post-op visits are good experiences.
His staff are pleasant. Had to stay on top of things. They do get busy and sometimes calls are not promptly returned.
Dr Murphy was so sweet and geniune.
I was nurvous when I first met him, but he really put me at ease.
Very sweet, and helpful.
How open and honest he was with me.
Just be honest with him, he really does treat his patients with respect.
Alot, he really does care if you make it or not. He is not like some Dr.'s who just dont care.
Yes, he does.
out of one to ten, he is very much a 10.
Both are a must have!
HE IS A VERY INTELLIGENT AND CONSIDERATE SURGEON, TAKING THE TIME TO EXPLAIN ALL ASPECTS OF THE SURGERY. HE IS A VERY BUSY MAN, HOWEVER HE IS EMPATHETIC TO ALL CONCERNS AND DIFFICULTY FACING OBESE PEOPLE. MY IMPRESSION OF HIM HAS ONLY GROWN GREATER AS I CONTINUE WITH THIS 'JOURNEY'. I MET WITH HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME, ON 12-4-01. MY SURGERY DATE WAS 1-18-02. THE AFTERCARE VISITS ARE 1,3,6,&12 MONTHS. THERE IS MUCH ENCOURAGEMENT TO JOIN A SUPPORT GROUP.THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS WITH THE OFFICE STAFF AND MY RETURN TO WORK PAPERS.
My first impression of Dr. Murphy was that he seemed to be very warm and caring. He was very professional and explained things in detail. I felt very reassured with him.
His office staff were very good to me. I feel very happy to have Dr. Murphy. He explained all the risks, and what is involved with this surgery. He told me I needed to do water areobics 4 times a week to strenghten muscles. He also wanted me to join support group in my city, and to educate myself on this surgery. I would rate him a 9 out of 10. This is just from consultation, I have yet to have my surgery which will be February 14, 2002.
I loved him immediately. He is very caring. He explained everything to expect. I work with surgeons everyday and by now I can tell which ones put forth that extra effort. This is a doctor who definitely does put forth that extra effort. I complete confidence in his abilities and in my follow up care with him. He was also very easy to get in to see. He does not perform Lap RNY's but will refer you to one of his collegues if that is what you really want. My surgery is 1/31/01 so I will fill you all in on the rest later.
My first impression of Dr. Murphy was that he was a kind and caring man. The office staff was great to me, everyone very kind and supportive. He seems to really care about his patients and when I left the office I felt like I really had a chance at a new life. Now I wait to test out his bedside manner with my inpatience! LOL :)
My surgeon is very funny, nice and Extremely qualified. My husbands boss as his part-time job just happens to be a former OR RN for Dr. Murphy (Dr Leo). She said I could not be in better hands.
She was right. The only thing I disliked was he is getting older and his daughter Dr Mary Murphy (Dr Mary) also a bariatric surgeon, handled everything from assisting her father in my operation to completeing all checks in the hospital and my discharge. Dr leo did visit me in the hospital, but I saw way more of Dr Mary.
I would of course suport anyone going to the Pacific Bariatric Medical Group. The staff, quality of care and and general caring about your well being is unparalled.
