Hello Everyone,

very busy start the the school year so life has been a challenge.

Accountability: wasn't great yesterday, I ate on plan but with more calories and carbs than I usually allow myself. They moved my lunch time every other day to 10:30 am! My husband can get home from work as late as 9:00 pm so it makes for a difficult time spreading out food. Im going to have to figure out how to work those days out better than I did yesterday but I'm not giving myself a hard time about it because at 10:30 Lunch and 9:00pm dinner is a bit crazy anyway.

QOTD: my favorite would be Chinese but I also really like Mexican

B: decaf, pp, sf torani

L: pork chop and yellow peppers

D: sirloin on a salad

S: volpi prosciutto and mozz sticks and decaf wit almond milk and splenda

How can it be called lunch at 10:30? That stinks - you'll have to plan snacks. When DH was working, he didn't get home until 7 or so. I HAVE to eat dinner at 5:30-6 or I start eating BAD stuff, so I started eating at my time (before he got home). Maybe plan a snack to have with DH?

Yeah I have to do something cause this is not working. By the time I get home I'm just not making good choices.

Yesterday I tried to have some of the protein powder a friend gave me when she found she disliked it after her VSG. It tasted ok, but my body immediately said, in no uncertain terms, No Can Do! Strange, since other whey isolate powders have been fine.

Here's something strange (to me): I have lost over 65 pounds, yet the same clothes still fit! They were snug beforehand and they are loose now, but they certainly aren't falling off me. I just find it bizarre that they could accommodate such a weight range! I guess it will be a NSV when they finally are just too big. I'll want to burn them! And honestly I can't see much difference in my appearance at all, looking in the mirror. Maybe a tiny difference in my face, but if so it's very subtle. But I do feel better, which is worth gold! And I know as I continue to lose there will come a point at which I will recognize my former self in the mirror once again. I gained almost 200 pounds after my mom died 8 years ago, and I am still heavier now than I ever was before. But onward and downward to goal! Which figure I actually haven't decided upon yet.

Ethnic food - I like Portuguese food, Greek food, Vera Cruz style Mexican (lots of seafood) though I don't really enjoy most other Mexican food, it always seems too heavy to me. I like Chinese and Japanese food, and I love the Italian kitchen, though I never really loved pasta or breads very much. I like some Middle Eastern food. Cuisines which frequently incorporate sweet tastes into their savory dishes aren't my favorites, but am always up for new experiences!

On Sunday a microburst hit Santa Barbara and startled everyone! There were downed trees limbs and unexpected wind and flooding:

The flying umbrellas remind me of Carl Sandburg's Rutabaga Tales.

First: cappuccino protein drink, warm

B: Greek yogurt with a little cinnamon protein powder stirred in

L: 2 oz. Pulled chicken with a little BBQ sauce

D: same as lunch

S: mini BabyBel light cheese.

I've been freezing Crystal Light into popsicles, and have been having one a day.

Wishing everybody a good day!

For some reason, it works that way. For the first bit, clothes will last a while, and then you will find that you're going through sizes much faster. I managed with my 3x clothing for a few months, and then skipped right to 1x xl, 16s and 18s - it was very strange. Now I wear mostly 12s (I can hardly believe that) and larges but some mediums, some 14s.

I buy mostly 2nd hand clothes right now as well as some things on sale but I try very hard to always wear clothes that fit properly. I have 2 shirts I bought from the gap a couple of months ago that are falling off me now and a gorgeous dress that I love- worn twice that is also falling off. But I didn't pay a lot for any of them and I will be able to sell them.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

I have closets bursting with beautiful clothes, but almost none in larger sizes. I browsed Thredup yesterday, and can see the wisdom in not spending much while your body is changing rapidly!

I am a Goodwill Ambassador... I swear I think some of the people that work there know me by name now! LOL

Even though I'm at goal, I still shop there. I can't pass up the bargains, and I've become very good at sorting through the clothes and finding really cute stuff. It might be a bit harder with the bigger sizes, but when you get to say a 16 or so, the options really open up (although earlier this week I was out looking and kept picking up 1x-2x stuff, so maybe it depends on the store you go to).

For me, it seemed I was able to wear my plus-size clothing for quite awhile too but once I got to some smaller sizes they wouldn't last as long. I know it doesn't seem to make sense but I felt like I could lose or gain 10 lbs and wear the same clothes pre-op but that does not seem to be the case now.

When we are smaller, 10 pounds represents a much higher percentage of our overall weight than when we are obese. Ten pounds lost or gained isn't visible on a 300-pound frame, but it makes a very noticable change on a 120-pound frame. I think smaller clothes reflect that too.

Good point, and I know most of my pants were elastic around the waist too.
