Help!!!

I'm gaining again!!  I was doing really well in my quest to lose the 42# that I had regained.  I lost 30 of those 42# only to re-regain 15 of those pounds!  Now I'm coming back to the OH family for more inspiration and motivation to get back on track again.  I am not giving up.  I'm glad I'm back with the OH family before that 15#weight gain becomes 42# again.  Pray for me and wish me luck.

Happy Surgi-versary to Me!!

I had WLS 8 years ago today!! I say this every year but it's hard to believe that another year has passed so quickly. My WLS journey like everyone else's has been rough sometimes but in spite of some of the bumps in the road, I would have WLS again in a heartbeat! Being a healty weight, looking and feeling better and enjoying an overall better quality of life is worth it. I really appreciate all of you who provided the support, encouragement, advice and motivation I needed to get back and stay on track. I'll continue to pray for the strength we all need to continue our efforts to learn and to be successful maintaining a healthy WLS lifestyle.

Worst Weekend Diet Ever!!!

Never again will I stay away from visiting OH for 2 consecutive days!!  We went out for breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings.  I did the right thing by asking for a take out box and immediately putting half of my meal in it for later; however, later came before I was truly hungry.  We went to Communty Day in my home town last Saturday and tasted a little of everything all day.  It was tough trying to record what I ate so I wrote it down on my "handy-dandy notebook" that I keep in my purse and entered estimates into the dailyplate when I got home.  I ate over 2200 cals that day.  Sunday was a little better.  I ate only 1150 cals but no balanced meals.  Total nutrient breakdown on Sunday was 43% carbs, 38% fat and only 19% protein!!   MY only consolation for both days was he fact that we went to the flea market and did a lot of walking around to all the vendors' tables.  Today I ha only 953 cals because I didn't have much of an appetite for some reason.  I realize that I really ned OH to keep me motivated to stay on track!!

No more 5-Day Pouch Test for me!  I have tried to complete the 5-DPT 3 times and failed 3 times!!  I don't feel too bad because on days that I didn't follow the plan as it's supposed to be, I still made some decent food choices.  Days 1 and 2 which are usually the hardest for most people seem to be the easiest for me.  When I get stuck on a plateau again, I'll just increase the protein, water and exercise.  I might even try the 3-Day liquid detox that some members have been successful wiith.  I'm not knocking the Pouch Test because a lot of us have been successful with it.  After three unsucessful tries, I don't think it's for me. 

What Happened to Day 3?

I'm almost done with Day 3 of the 5 Day Pouch Test but I ate what I should be eating on Day 4.   I think today would have been better if I can stay away from those crackers.  I weighed in today at 152.5#.  No weight loss but I'm really not expecting to lose muuch during this test.  I had about 1172 cals today:
1 bottle K20 Water, 1 cup of coffee w/ hazelnut powdered creamer and sweet-n-low, one Atkins Vanilla  Shake,one container ofCreamy Chicken Soup-at-Hand, 4 Whole Grain Crackers, Shrimp Scampi, 1 Jello Sugar Free Double Choclate pudding.   Rotisserie chicken. Again, I sipped water throughout the day but probably not enough.   I'll probably have another shake or protein bar before bed.  I'm ready to do a proper Day 4 tomorrow!

Made it through Day 2!!

I was successful for the most part except on my way out of the bldg where I work. I got to work late so I had to park in a different lot than usual.  I successfully ignored the vending machine on my way to my office.  When it was time to go back to the lot I had to pass that vending machine again...no, I didn't pass it up like I should have but I stopped and bought a bag of Twizzlers.  I ate three of them and I started immediately started feeling crappy.  I swear thse things just laid in my pouch and felt like a lead ball. Thank God I threw the rest of the pack right out of my car window before I was tempted to keep eating them no matter how they made me feel!!  Getting rid of those things was worth the chance being stopped by the police for littering.  Other than the Twizzlers, may day 2 was ok.  I weighed in at 152.5# this morning and I ate around 1,368 calories today.
I had:
1 bottle K20 Water, 1 cup of coffee w/ hazelnut powdered creamer and sweet-n-low, one Atkins Chocolate Shake,one container ofCreamy Chicken Soup-at-Hand, 4 Whole Grain Crackers, 1 Body Fortress Super Whey Protein Shot, 1 Sugar -Free Jello Pudding, 3 nasty Twizzlers,  1 pkg Slim Jim Mild Beef & Cheese Sticks, Lo-Carb Pumpkin Sausage Soup and 1 Jello Sugar Free Double Choclate pudding.   I sipped water throughout the day but probably not enough. I'm ready to re-do Day 2 and try to stick to more liquids.

Starting Weight: 154#
I had:
1 K2O Protein water
Coffee with Sweet-n-Low and Powdered Hazelnut Creamer
SlimFast Lo-Carb Creamy Chocolate Shake
Soup-at-Hand Creamy Chicken
Sugar-Free Gelatin
Soup-at-Hand Clam Chowder
1 K20 Protein Water
Lo-Carb Pumpkin Sausage Soup
Sugar-Free Gelatin
Pure Protein Chocolate Chip Bar
I also sipped 1 bottle of water during my work day
Total Calories: 1188
Now I'm ready for Day 2.

5-Day Pouch Test--3rd Try!!

My weight seems to be stuck and I can't seem t get under 151#.  My weight ranges between 151 and 154# and all I want to do is to get to my short-term goal of 150# and stay there ( or lose some more). I'll start the 5DPT tomorrow.  I have no special events to attend that involve food this week and I expect to be successful this time. I'm praying for the strength to complete it this time. 

Day 5...Dont go there!!

All I can say that I'm glad it's over..It was a bad, bad, bad, day and I won't do it agin.  During work I was fine until had had to work overtime.. I'm on vacation from work next week and I wanted to tie up a few things that can't wait until I go bacckto work. It was getting late and I was getting hungry.  I heard that cheese and cracker tray in our "help yourself spot" in our kitchen calling me and I answered!!  When I got home my hubby and I watched a movie and you know that a snack is necessary!!  We ended up eating fried shrimp, frenchfire and Mike & Ikes for desert.  The good thing is that I didn't gain weight; however, I didn't  lose any either. If I ever do the 5DPT again it will be the 3DPT!!
