Listen Honey it's not that hard .

You can do this ...I know it feels terrible at the beginning.... but you just have to fall into it .... there's really no hunger ... it's more like missing food and the pleasure of eating food . oh so many hugs 4 U

If this is your pre-op requirement, take whatever their guidelines are seriously. There have been examples shared where people had their surgery cancelled/rescheduled/denied due to not meeting those goals.

Your surgeon will let you know how much weight loss is expected.

Topic: Medically Supervised Diet - Weight Q

Hi! New to all this?I've seen a lot of don't gain weight during this period. My appointment times are staggered and some are later in the day - how literal is it to not gain? I haven't lost on this plan so far. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you catwoman. I didn't know you can buy individual packets! I will check out both of your recommendations.

Thank you for responding and for your advice. I like Swanson and will try adding some seasonings. My doctor says I can start the protein drinks when I am on full liquids. If I can get through the clear stage I will be ok. I never drink protein shakes so I guess I will have to try a few.

re: protein shakes, I had to drink 4-5 a day during the two-week liquid thing. My favorites were Unjury and Syntrax products, but people's tastes vary so widely that you might be better off picking up some individual packets of different brands. You can order some online and may be able to get some at a GNC or Vitamin Shoppe.

Topic: RE: How long did you stay in bed for after RNY?

When I got home I kept moving so I could build up my stamina. I felt tired all the time but rested when I got tired. I limited my time in bed to only sleeping. I took pain meds the first week and was off by week two. I did feel like I was tired all the time for the first month but they said that is normal. Things will get better but be sure you are sipping on liquid all day so you don't get dehydrated.
