You have received some great advice here and I agree with all. You need to be up and mobile as often as you can and stay hydrated.

Hey! I was on this site several months ago and ran into some issues with trying to get surgery. Too long to go into but I am hoping that this time things will work out for me. I was able to lose some of my excess weight but still qualify for surgery. I can tell you how helpful many of you were to me before and I hope can be again. I am really worried about this process only because of my last letdown. So here is to another try and hopefully we are a GO.

I've always liked Thai chicken and coconut soups like Tom Kha Gai .

Bought them by the quart after surgery.

I honestly hate shakes ... not my thing. Buffets ... yes lots of soup a little food ...

About 2 hours, maybe?

Immobility is a very dangerous situation as it puts you at greater risk of blood clots.

Get up and walk walk walk. Unless you have a medical condition related to the surgery, in which case you would probably not have been discharged, you should NOT be taking to your bed!

Agreed with everyone here who already responded, talk to your medical team. Even day of surgery mine didn't let me stay in bed once the anesthesia wore off. They were immediately into the walk, walk, walk mode. Once home it was sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk. Good luck and get that movement in!!

I was told to sip one ounce of water every 15 minutes and walk at least 5 minutes every hour while awake. I was also on anti-heartburn medication for six weeks. Call your surgeon and get this resolved. You should not be nauseous and should not be staying in bed.

I didn't stay in bed at all. Are you drinking plenty of liquid. Dehydration causes nausea. Dehydration is your biggest concern right now.
If you can't get out of bed, I suggest you call your surgeon and tell them and they might bring you in gor iv fluids.
