Good morning Menu Peeps. Well we lost our hockey game last night in a shoot out. So not too bad but still disappointing.

This morning I didn't wake up until 6:10.....20 minutes late. I just wanted to stay curled up in my bed but felt guilty so I dragged myself up and out to the gym. Probably just as well because my co-worker can't walk at lunch today so at least I've already reached my step goal for the day.

GF - 1/2 banana w. PB

AGF - premier protein

B - 1/2 bagel with egg and cheese

L - spinach salad with chicken, blueberries, raspberries and cranberry cinnamon goat cheese - poppyseed dressing

S - probably won't need one

D - cheddar bacon chicken griller, garden salad

Have a great day!

Howdy Gang! Almost home time....was such a nice day today got out for a good long walk at lunch. It was a little windy but at least the sun was shining.

I didn't sleep worth a toot last night. I swear I have the smallest bladder in the world. I was literally up every 1/2 hour to go pee! Better not be that way tonight - I need my sleep.

I have to play ball hockey tonight at 730...that's quite a workout but adds to my step count so I guess it's okay. What was I thinking when I signed up for that?

Today was an odd food day.....I just wasn't in the mood for prep.

B - frosted flakes (do not copy me!!)

S - grapefruit

L - 1/2 turkey wrap

S - raspberries

D - pot roast and maybe a salad - but the pot roast is so yummy I could just my fill of that to bring up my protein levels.

S - maybe a premier protein after the hockey game

I'm surprised they didn't start you on them pre-surgery. I have been on them now since my appointment with the dietician and will be on them for life.

I look at it as "things happen for a reason."

But ... having said that and having completed most of my appointments, I am finally getting anxious. I take it as a sign that I am mentally ready for this journey.

Good luck!

Good afternoon :)

Just getting here as we ran a ton of errands today. The little nugget was sick and then I got sick and then she got sick again and then DH got sick... So our eating has been pretty miserable around here.

Tomorrow I get to go to a gestational diabetes class since I can't take the glucose sensitivity test (thankfully I don't have GD and didn't have it last time). I will be followed by an internist and the nurses at the clinic to make sure my blood sugars stay within normal ranges :)

Post-op four years and seven months.

Happy Monday all!

What a nice fall weekend... I got to be outside most of it but did end up going to the gym in the afternoon yesterday only because I wanted to use the hydro massage chair. Unfortunately I didn't get to any of my food prep for the week so I'll have to do that tonight.

B - leftover chicken (since I did no food prep or shopping)

S - small apple, SF pudding as dip

L - more leftover chicken, salad

S - melba toast with PB

D - 1/2 protein shake, eggs

S - shrimp & dip

Welcome back! I don't blame you at all for enjoying summer and lots of camping but we did miss you.

Topic: RE: HR / Federal Government Health Care Pre-Surgery

I work for the federal government...in fact, I'm a Director. I had surgery about 7 years ago. There is no requirement for you to disclose what type of surgery you're getting. You just need to bring in a doctor's note stating how long you will be off due to surgery.

You also do not need to notify Sun Life. It's not an insurance matter.

In my case, I was very open about the surgery to my boss and co-workers. My workplace was very supportive. In fact, it was helpful, especially when I had to go on the shakes for a few weeks before surgery. I took three weeks off of work which is what was recommended by my surgeon at the time. And I took full advantage of that to be in a great space when I returned to the office.

Good luck!

Hello!!! I know, Stranger Danger!! Remember me? LOL, I will try and post a little more regularly. Summer was a distraction.

I didn't sleep well last night and with the rain and thunderstorms this morning I could not force myself out of bed to the gym. I am however forcing my co-worker out for a lunch time walk even though it's cold as balls out there.

B - bacon/tomato on skinny bread

S - key lime oikos

L - chili

S - ??

D - chicken sauteed with peppers and onions, shredded cheese dollop of sour cream

Take care all.
