Hello
i am most definitely too late to way in but I did want to share this experience. I have had a C SECTION & total abdominal hysterectomy. I do not have any sensation from my waist right down to my incision. Does it bother me? Not at all.
I am having abdominal plasty three weeks from today. Lost over 130 pounds and I can't wait to finally have the surgery. The entire area that is currently numb will be gone. I'm really not too worried about any loss of sensation post tummy tuck.
Have you had your surgery?
sincerely

So sorry, just now seeing this post, which I realize it may be too late for you specifically - I hope your surgery went well! Wishing you the best recovery.
My surgeries were all done at the same time, I'm actually not exactly sure how long it took - many hours- but I was by myself in Mexico getting it done by Dr. Sauceda (a true body work genius). I would totally do it all over again, even being by myself, their after care was excellent by the doctor and his private nurse. It was definitely hard at the beginning of course- I have a low pain tolerance and once I was out of the hospital (after two days) the pain was more manageable because I kept myself on schedule for pain meds for the first week or so and that helped a lot. I had a few stitches spitting after I got home, and a bit of constipation (sorry TMI)- but other than that my recovery went really well once the pain was manageable.
I'd say I was walking around (carefully and slowly) to get food and supplies within about 4 days. Each day the nurse would help me change bandages and the doctor would check on me in person at the hotel (for 12 days) - something like that NEVER happens in the US (that I'm aware of).
I'd love to go back to get my thighs and chin done, but I'm so happy with my results I'm not sure that I will- maybe one day.
I see that this is a pretty old thread that I just started following. For those of you that opted for the fleur de lis procedure, I would like to know your thoughts about it years later. I am not a bariatric patient, just a divorced mom with 3 grown kids whose weight has fluctuated a lot over the years. I have a lot of excess skin. I feel that I'm not an ideal candidate for a tummy tuck, as I'm not at my goal weight (I'm within 30 or 40 lbs of my goal weight). But I need a hysterectomy & found out that it is possible to kill two birds with one stone & have both surgeries done on the same day. I'll never be able to take 6 weeks off from work for an elective surgery, so I'm strongly considering doing this. I've been given the option of having the fleur de lis or regular tummy tuck. Was leaning towards the more invasive procedure to get the best result, BUT...found out that during the pandemic, NO overnight hospital stays are being authorized! Instead of putting me at risk on a recovery floor with COVID patients, I will be sent home THE SAME DAY. This terrifies me because I have no caretaker. One of my kids might be able to stay with me the first night or two, but these are irresponsible boys in their early twenties...not the same as having a nurse. So I need to know more about what your recovery was like. What can I expect? Is this whole thing a bad idea? Would any of you considered the FDLTT under these cir****tances? Have any of you had a hysterectomy & what was THAT recovery like? I am hoping to have something scheduled for January or February.
Hi there!
I found your post on a google search because I just had a thigh lift done and both sides have opened on the groin area. Did you use the medihoney patches on it?
my doctor told me to use silvasorb but I don't see any results from that.
Thank You ??
I think she meant more along the lines of "without it costing" and there being issues with one Dr. trying to fix another surgeons mistakes.
have you met many doctors who will do work" without it costing"?
I definitely talked to him about what I wanted. He said he could get the results with pulling my skin from my back pulled forward and my Fuba pulled up to tighten that up also. He did cut me from my belly button and down around my stomach on the bottom, I started talking about what was wrong the 1st time I seen him after it all. Why is my upper stomach still big? I thought my Fuba was supposed to be lifted ETC. He told me it was swelling. Which was NOT the case. I also woke up with the tube down my throat and unable to move. For over 8 hours....being shocked in my temple I was allergic to the medication ( the muscle relaxant ) not good!!! He just didn't care as much as he said he did. Sorry I hope you can understand my wandering mind. Make sure you figure out what you want and need before. Don't be like me and think they will take care of everything!!

Thank you for this! Yea, I won't be going to someone just because they are the cheapest. I watch too much "Botched" for that
I get it, I wouldn't let age stop you if you are healthy overall. I have a friends who are in their 60's who have had surgery to help with their body image. See if you can go to a different surgeon (or more than 1) and get a quote(s)!
I have heard that some surgeons will go all out and tell you what they think you may need (which I wouldn't like that, honestly because they are pointing out what THEY think your flaws are) and others who will only address the issues you present to them with or even what is covered under your insurance plan. I am learning that I need to go in with questions ahead of time so I don't forget anything!
