5 weeks today?! Ahh!!
So I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Morgan, I'm 21 years old. Married to Brian (almost 23) who is a soldier. I am 9 months, well almost 10 months post op from RNY and just found out according to an HPT that I'm preggers. We are certainly taking this as a huge blessing after years of TTC before my surgery, hubby was only home for 2 weeks for R&R during his deployment to Afghanistan and BAM, were preggers. I actually tested positive (very faint) the day before he headed back to Afghanistan (he went back yesterday). So its been kind of bitter sweet, but more sweet with all we have to look forward to!
So I guess I'm here for the next 9 months. How many of you other lovely ladies were a little short of the reccomended (12-15months) time before getting preggers? Have you all had healthy and normal pregancies? How has your weight gain been? I'm not nervous about gaining too much weight because I plan on staying diligent and following my OB's plan and the like. I am a little worried about getting it off after, but the goal is healthy pregnancy for baby and me. I guess I should go search around here because I'm sure a lot of good information is floating around.
I look forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome Morgan!!! and CONGRATS on your weightloss and your new baby news. I was definitely out only 7 months from RNY when I unexpectedly became preggers. So far so good on my pregnancy and I had issues earlier with ketosis and fainting due to low iron, but have made sure to get all my Iron and viatimins (calcium citrate, prenatals, B12 injections and multi-viatimin) in. I've had to increase my caloric intake, as I was only consuming before about 800 and I had to double that for the baby. So 4 months preggers and I've only gained 1 pound so far.....I'm sure at some point I might put on more, but my focus is not pounds it's making sure I get enough calories (good calories) to make this a healthy baby.
I too am a Army wife and my husband Todd got back from his first tour in Iraq last December. He was gone shortly after we had our first son Tyler. Hopefully they don't take him again for a year, as it's so hard. Made me have a whole new respect for single mothers. Well please Thank your husband for his service to our great country and may god be with him over there and keep you in good health here :) Keep us posted on your pregnancy progress sweetie :)

I got pregnant in february of this year and my surgery was last may, so I was definitely short of my 12-15 months. This was a complete surprise for me. I'm only 23, too, so I've been completely lost. Been reading a LOT. I have only gained 9 lbs, and I'm 31 weeks. I've actually lost weight everywhere except my belly. I no longer have hips or a butt:( It starts to get worrisome when you realize how much you have to eat later on in pregnancy but as long as baby is healthy I'm trying not to worry about it TOO much. Doctor says I'm measuring quite big too, so baby must not be too bad off. All my vitamins are good and in range of healthy. Definitely possible to have perfectly healthy pregnancy and baby this early out of surgery. :)
LOL, my thoughts exactly. Apparently they figure it based on the first day of your last period. So even the week of your period and everything is part of your pregnancy. I think I'm actually more like 4w 4d though, because he didn't get home until Sept 7th, and I'm fairly certain we concieved either that day or the next (my cycle is normall about 30 days). Strange, I know.

Congrats on the baby news! I was only 7 mos post-op when I found out that I was preggers with Krysten (who is almost 5 now). I gained 29 lbs with her, but only gained 9.5 lbs with my 2nd post-op baby, Tyson.
I found this board to be an asset with my pregnancies, as I'm sure you will. How much longer until he's home for good? I understand deployments all tooooo well. I was actually just in Fort Campbell/Oak Grove last weekend lol. I came to town to get a friend of mine.
Take care!
