Congrats! You definitely need to get Folic Acid on the list.! I would call your OB and strongly remind them of your surgery and your concerns over getting sufficient vitamins, they can easily send you for lab work to make sure. I did and told them I really felt due to the special cir****tances that I should be seen earlier rather than later, as many OB's don't want to see you till about 8 weeks or so. Each person is going to be different, so while one of us may need to double their iron, that may not be what you need, and you should be very careful, only do what you doc tells you to do as far as medications and vitamins Vitamins, especially Iron, could easily make you sick if you take too much.
If it helps I am 8 years out, and didn't do a lot of follow up either, my doc ended up moving too far away and I didn't care for the new doctors that took over. You have to be strong and stand up for things, also do not let your OB make you take the glucola test for the gestational diabetes, there are other options, that is unless you don't dump.
Best of luck!
I will be starting on Clomid for my Aug. cycle. Who here used it, what was your experience? How many rounds? Anyone use Clomid and end up with multiples? I want to know everything. Thanks!
Hi Melanie, I have pretty much gone through all of the TTC procedures your going through or about to go through, unfortunately in our case it all comes down to IVF. Good luck with your journey :) If you wouldn't mind are you able to send me an invite to the FB group as well? my email address is [email protected] or my username on FB is Tracy Branch. Thank you in advance & all the best.
You must be excited as its only two weeks away. I'm only 11 weeks but due in Jan 2014. However, I am having twins and will probably go early.
I don't think they adjusted my meds for weight loss surgery. I had a bunch of injections, so no problem with absorption there,, as far as like chlomid or femara, they still worked and gave me lots of eggs, it just seemed like my hip was breaking when i was on femara (which was new for them) the pain was wierd, i'm thinking it leached some more calcium from my bones (it's actually invented for cancer patients i think).. if you have a good RE they should be able to explain everything, and be willing to listen to and address your concerns. i'm actually on the "adopt an embryo" list now, so maybe someday i'll be able to be pregnant with my adopted child :) sandy
