Germs aside, I'd be worried about your own risks that soon after delivery.  I'm not even sure your doc would clear you for it.  I'd ask your OB for their opinion.

Topic: RE: IVF Question on follicles

Your follicles are were your eggs grow - It means that your eggs are not mature  enough to be retrieved. It means that your cycle will probably be extended and egg retrieval delayed until the follicles grow to a certain size. They may up your dosage of meds to see if they can get it to grow faster...but you should talk to your doctor to see what your next steps are. Everyone is different and responds to meds differently as well.

Topic: IVF Question on follicles

Hi, I am going through IVF and am scheduled for my egg retrieval this weekend, however I was told my follicles are not ready and have barely grown.  What does this mean?  Is it possible it could be canceled? Can they shoot up before then?  How worried should I be?

Weight loss in the first trimester is normal and it happens to a lot of women. It sounds like you are doing exactly what you are suppose to do, so just keep up good nutrition and take your vitamins and hang in there!

Best wishes to you!

Sorry to hear about that painful IUI :( Mine was a bit uncomfortable like a little pressure, but no pain and no blood.  I just want to send my best wishes to you and pray for a BFP this next round!

I am right there with you in all of this, my ultrasound is next wed so I am hoping and praying for a couple big ol' follicles.

Hang in there girlie!

has anyone else that has experienced gestational diabetes had to go on the insulin pens? just curious because i tried to control my blood sugars with diet and glyburide, but numbers would not stay stay constant. at least one meal would be messed up and too high. plus, i couldn't eat any starchy carbs at all without my blood sugars skyrocketing which made the doctors unhappy. they insisted i should be able to a small potato without my body going into meltdown. so my doctors started me on the insulin pens yesterday. not thrilled to see the pens are a cat C medication and not thrilled to see in the print on the handout that it's not known if taking this stuff can harm the baby  :(  just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this?

I remember reading something a long time ago that newborns have super sensitive eardrums and peds don't want them on airplanes until they are a bit older. I am with the others though, not the safest idea with germ exposure and it may be way to much on both of you. Plus you are still at risk of clots that soon postpartum.
