did you change anything in your eating patterns? i know that's what attributed to mine, but the doc made me :/
Had RNY on 9/10/08 and gave birth to my first child 9/10/2012. I gained 40 lbs while pregnant and since giving birth have lost all but the last 20 lbs. I would really like to get the rest off. If anyone has any idea of how to do this please help. I do get into the gym almost everyday and go for walks with my son after work. The only difference from pre baby to now is that I have the mirena in for birth control. Not sure if that is what is making this last 20 so hard to lose.
She is exploring! lol. Getting more adventurous. Keep us updated on Friday. Praying she is head down. I can't wait to feel my baby move. The baby is poppy seed size so no real movement yet. lol
I was reading online yesterday about how not to be alarmed if your baby doesn't move as much towards the end because they run out of room, etc....well my baby is still moving around flipping positions like crazy. Last night, this baby decides to explore how many body parts she can get on the left side of the belly....which has been opposite of her trying to maintain only space on right...Even my husband noticed how lopsided my stomach was...I am just hoping she is still head down!!! Go back on Friday and we will probably make an appointment for the following week to get her out of there...How's everyone else's baby moving today?

Congrats to you both! First, when looking for an OBGYN, just inquire if they have dealt with gastric patients before. Most have and know what extra things to look out for, making sure Vit D and iron are good, thyroid, etc. But to be honest other than the sugar test (which with both my post WLS I did not do); you really just run a normal pregnancy. Good luck to you and have an enjoyable pregnancy! Stacey

I am on my second post op baby. I did have to use Clomid with my first pregnancy after WLS but my second was just me and my husband and 30 days without birth control. Pre-WLS and after, my periods never straightened out, but I was able to get preggo with a little help.
GOOD Luck! Stacey

I was high risk with my 2 pre wls babies since I had borderline hypertension and did develop pre-eclampsia with both boys who were fine but I delivered early with both (34 and 37weeks). And I had ongoing medical needs during both pregnancies mostly weight related.
I am 3 yrs past my RNY now and just gave birth last week to my 3rd child and had NO issues with the pregnancy. I technically was high risk this pregnancy but only due to being 40 so my OB didn't treat me any differently than a regular patient except I had bio-physical ultrasounds every week from week 36 on. This baby was born full term and almost 9 lbs so she is already sleeping much better than either of the boys did!
My vitamin levels were checked when I found out I was pregnant and twice during pg and were fine on my regular wls vitamin regime--my chewable multi vits do have folic acid in them. The only change we made was to double my iron when they checked it in January it was low--but that was a routine iron check since a lot of pg women's iron drops at that point in pg and doubling it fixed the problem.
So basically my post wls baby gave me a normal pg and I was able to wear regular maternity clothes even!
