March 3rd My Dear Son Emmanuel

My son Emmanuel he lives with his wife Brittany and my grandson EJ in North Carolina did the sweetest thing. He send me a gift by priority mail and I received it today. He said it was my birthday present. It was the sweetest poem he wrote for me and a box of Rochers my favorite. He wanted me to get them on time so I could enjoy a few before my surgery. He made me smile while I aponed the package and there it was my favorite chocolate.
Here is the poem he wrote it made me cry.....
Mom

March 1st The Monster is still here STREP THROAT

It is my husband's turn now. He has an ear infection and strep throat they started him on antibiotics today. I am not letting anything stop me this time so I will be taking antibiotics just incase.
Just "5" days until my surgery and I am super excited!! Not nervous at all so lets see how it will be the day before my surgery. lol
Keep me in your prayers I need all I can get.

February 28th My last and special meal before my surgery

I really like Timbuktu and Gino to me there today. I had a wonderful night out just me and hubby together without the little ones.
I ordered a Margarita and a 10 oz Lobster with Filet Mignon.
My husnbad had the Baby Back Ribs and Crab Cake combo. He gave me some of his and I gave him a little bit of mine. lol He drank a vodka martini and just enjoyed eachother's company throughout the evening.
We came home and my oldest daughter Tara had already put the kiddos to bed and we just had the rest of the evening together withut any little ones begging to sleep in our bed. It was weird and I kept hearing my kids crying for me. lol They were sleeping in the basement in Tara's room. It is not like they were far away. lol
Thank you Tara for helping us have our special evening together.
I want to thank my husband for the wonderful evening despite of the incident that happened earlier in the evening with my other daughter.
Gino you are the best and you have been a great father to my oldest children even if one sees different. I can't thank you enough for eveything that you have done for me and my three oldest children in the past 10 years. You are my rock and I love you with all my heart. I love you baby!

February 24th Timbuktu with my wonderful OH friends

I had a wonderful time at Timbuktu with my special OH friends. I really enjoy our get togethers. I was totally surprised with a birthday gift from Heather Modell, Margie and the ladies with a wonderful birthday gift that means the world to me.
We celebrated with Pat Spangler because she is getting married on March 17th, 2007. I was also surprised wit a great gift from Pat for my WLS. I just can't say enough how grateful I am to have all these wonderful ladies in my life.
I feel great, comfortable with my decision and I am ready to have this change already.
Thank you ladies for all the advise, love and supoort that you all have given me. I thank God everyday for your friendship.

I spoke with Kathi Storm today the RN at DVR's office and she told me that all I have to get done is repeat my CBC & CMP blood work asap for my surgery on the 6th.. I am so excited all over again just 11 more days to go. Yipppeeee!
So on Monday I will go get my blood work done.

I am 41 years old today. Wow time sure flies. I remember when I was just 16 years old as if it was yesterday. lol
Just 17 more days until my surgery!! What a great birthday gift I will be giving to myself. :-)

Today I had my counseling session with Ann at GBMC. It was good to talk to her I really liked our session and my next appointment to see her is March 2nd.
Well, I have been pretty calm about everything and just counting down my days. I can't wait until March 6th gets here I am so ready!
My bag is still packed from before and I ordered some samples from unjury and some chicken broth from there too so I can try it after surgery. ;-)

February 5th Surgery has been postponed!!

I have strep throat. I have been battling a sore throat stuffy/runny nose since about 1 week and a half. :-( I am a bit upset with myself because I should have gotten checked before and I could have been on antibiotics for 1 week and been ok for surgery tomorrow.
Here's the blower I have been rescheduled for March 6th.
I am a bit bummed but I am thankful that I got checked out I can get the strep gone and hopefully a month should fly by quick enough.
The positive thing of all this is that I have an awesome surgeon and he would not let anything wrong happen to me.
Well I guess I will be having a good Valentine and Birthday 2-17 dinners before I get the surgery. lol :-)

January 30th 3 hour class

I had my class at GBMC start at 9:30 am. It was 3 of us there for the class. Jean & Tonya having surgery on the 13th and me next week on the 6th. There was another lady in the room her name is Kai Kai and she works for them but forgot what she does. Anyway she was really upbeat and nice to us.
Sloan went through the entire binder with all the information for pre & post op. The other two ladies were nervous I got a few goose bumps here and there but nothing major. Dr Von Rueden came in chatted with us asked us if we had any questions or concerns and was really friendly. He smiled a lot and told us that we were going to do just fine and by summer time we would be out there showing off our new bodies. lol
After all that Kathy came in explained what was going to happen from the time we come to be admitted up until we are released from the hospital. Then she called me in first to a room had me sign all the paperwork and gave the time of surgery. Which I will be the first one for Tuesday.
I need to be there at 5:30 am and surgery is at 7:30 am.
I just can't believe that just in 6 more days i will be on the losing side thanking my Lord Jesus for guiding DVR hands and protecting me through the surgery.
I am actually calm no major nerves yet. I just hope that this is the way I remain throughout the entire time.
I still have some more things I need to purchase to have at home for after the surgery and I should get that done by Thursday evening.
The day before the surgery I will be on clear liquids and I will have to take the fleets phospho something yuck. But I am ready! :-)
