Talk to your team. My doc cleared me for anything 2 weeks post surgery. I was cleared to do cardio (walking/jogging) immediately after surgery. The key was to listen to how my body responded. I was in the gym 5 days after surgery on a recumbent bike for an hour while watching Breaking Bad (it was how I got myself on the bike - that was my treat). But I was very active prior to surgery, which made a difference for me. Check with your doc. S/he may have his/her own timetable for you.

Keep on losing!

There is no way to spot reduce fat and, if it's skin, no exercise will remove it. Work to reduce your overall body fat and then invest in plastic surgery.
Sorry :/

Hi,
Does anyone have suggestions for exercise to help with the belly roll?? I ride bike and do crunches and squats I also walk. For me it seems like that space between my chest and belly button is like a roll or spare tire I have heard some say. Menopause is not helping the situation but any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Kathy

I wasn't allowed to do anything other than walk for the first 6 weeks post-op. After that, I was allowed to ease into anything I wanted to do. It'll be important to listen to your body and stop if you need to, I'd definitely recommend informing your instructor that you've had surgery and may need to child's pose more than normal in the beginning.
All that said - ask your surgeon for their specific requirements.

Thx for this info.
I am seeing this late because I am just now searching the site for the same issue.
I had RNY 11 months ago and lost 110 lbs. Frustrated because I want to lose another 10 lbs. fat while gaining muscle mass.
I eat 2200 cals a day with 200 grams of protein a day, (This being a 20% calorie deficit based on my workouts) and the scale has not dropped in many weeks, and muscle gains are really slow.
Did you have a good balance to get body fat percentage down to where you want?
