Brooke, I had a tummy tuck and breast lift in October.  I put some "tips and suggestions" on my profile that might help you.  It was a wonderful experience and worth EVERY penny. (But that's also the reason I can't really go to Cancun...will be paying for my PS for 3 years).

I'm probably the ONLY person in the world that hates New Orleans.  I went there years ago and it smelled like vomit and urine and a guy tried to cut the straps to my purse in broad daylight on Bourbon street so he could steal it.  Needless to say, not a good experience so I'm headed to the beach...

OK, I've been noticing for days on end that everyone is in a FUNK or not feeling well so I propose a quick trip to Cancun.  Imagine that we've all just won a FREE trip so everyone can come and everyone has the time off.  Don't ya think a little sunshine would do us all some good?  What do you want to do when we get there?  Personally, I want to lie on the beach in my SIZE 10 swimsuit with my flat tummy and PERKY boobs and soak up some rays. (said tongue in cheek cuz this 53 year old body still ain't so hot).  So get packing and let me know what you want to do...WE NEED SUNSHINE!!!!!

Good morning everyone.  I'm off work today and I actually live the closest of all the nurses...only 1.5 miles from work.  I just lucked out and wasn't scheduled to work today.  I have 3 days off and need to get to the gym but I bet it's not open today either.  It's 24 degrees here and VERY ICY.  Clay is waiting until later before he ventures to work. 

My tummy HURTS this morning for some crazy reason.  That never happens to me so I hope it's just simple gas or something.  Anyway, I just plan to sit in front of the fire, watching TV today.  So add me to the list of those not feeling well...

I had a really good food day yesterday UNTIL last night...why do I graze so much while watching TV?  I ate a cup of salty pistachios plus 1/4 cup of raisenettes.  Then I wonder why the scale is UP 0.8 today.  All totalled yesterday I ate 1500 calories and got in 93 gm of protein.  A "normal" person wouldn't gain on that so why do we?  Oh, this weight thing is such a mystery.  Anyway, I'm still in range and hopefully will get in some exercise today.  It's so cold and slippery I'm not going to try to go to the gym, so I guess it's another session with "Maya", my Wii personal trainer. 

I better go make a protein shake and come up with a plan for the other 2 meals today.  It certainly is too cold to grill outside so I better think of a high protein indoor meal.

Time to shout out to some people...Loni, Jenny, Patsy, Lalocaweta, Susan, Dana, Sandi...where are you ladies???  I have a list of goals for you ladies on the original post and haven't heard from you lately.  Hope you're doing well and let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

Yesterday was good again:  Calories 1093  Protein: 93  Weight: -0.6 lbs. 

Yesterday I stuck to my plan except I didn't have a dinner plan.  We had Pei Wei catered in at work so for dinner I had about 6 bites of chicken, nothing else.

Today is more of the same: Breakfast: protein drink, lunch meat mini sandwich and fruit for lunch, shrimp salad for dinner, have healthy snack packed.

Gotta run to work, be careful on the roads today.

So sorry to hear this Que.  I'd lend ya mine but with 3 herniated discs you probably don't want mine either.  Luckily, mine haven't bothered me too much since i lost the weight but the simplest thing will set it off.  Thank God for my chiropractor.  He's managed to keep me away from the surgeon many times over.  It's a shame you're so far away cuz my hot tub is so helpful when mine's acting up. 

One quick exercise I learned years ago really helps when mine is "out".  Lie flat on your stomach on the floor (with your arms at your sides) for 2-3 minutes.  Then raise up on your forearms/elbows for 2-3 minutes, then push up with your hands with your elbows locked until you're arching your back.  That helps the disc to slide back in.  Do it as often as you can until the pain is better.   Hope it helps.  Regardless, I got ya in my prayers.

To John, Connie, and everyone else that have gained...PLEASE consider jopining us on the "30 day challenge" thread.  So what if we just started week 4, just jump in anyway.  We are going to keep it going as a daily thread after the official challenge ends.  Just list what your personal goals are and post everyday as to your plan and how you're doing.  The accountability alone makes me stick to my plan. Even if you can't post everyday, post when you can.  We're here for you, no flaming allowed on that thread.

Morning...Calories were good yesterday but protein was low.  Also a weekend with very little exercise and it showed this morning.  I'm up 0.6 lbs.  I really think my body has decided that's where it wants to stay and I'm just gonna have this 2-3 lbs range.  If that's the case, I'm happy cuz in a million years I never would of thought I'd ever be a size 10.

Plan for today is more of the same.  Protein drink for breakfast, ham/cheese on mini croussant for lunch but I have no idea for dinner.  I had planned on leftover pot roast but it just had no flavor so I'm feeding it to the dogs. 

Have a super day and make good choices!!

S A I N T ???  Those of you that KNOW me would NEVER use that term, lol!!  I'm just glad that this challenge has helped so many of us (me included).  I was so afraid when I started this that a lot of people would drop out in the first week but I'm thrilled that so many have stuck with it.  If we continue I hope more people will jump on board with us...as we know, it's never too late to start.

My gas was so bad in my chest and upper back that I had to have my husband "burp" me (like a baby) several times a day to get it moving.  I swear that's the only thing that worked.  It's amazing the noise your tummy can make after this surgery but remember it's all worth it.
