"It places the lotion on the skin", then throws it in the medical waste garbage :).

We need to think positively. There is always a way out of the situation and you need to look for it. I started reading more about health after reading an essay on https://writinguniverse.com/free-essay-examples/health/ . This is a really interesting topic for me because many people in my family are obese or just have some diseases. The most important thing is positive thinking and motivation. I am studying in college to be a nurse and this is a very common topic for essays and I really like it

the skin removed after weight loss surgery is not usable for skin grafting. Skin for grafting usually comes from a living donor(ones self if possible) because only a small thickness is used.
skin from skin removal surgery is medical waste and usually incinerated.

Topic: Those GoLo T.V. Ads - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I don't know how many of you have seen their latest one, but in it the gal giving her "testimonial" for the product (or service? I never did know what GoLo IS ) talks about her failed previous attempts at weight loss, and then concludes with something like the following: "I was even considering gastric bypass surgery ... "

OH NO -- NOT WLS!!!

Geez, bad enough when you hear ignorant individuals taking digs at WLS, but when whole companies are taking shots at us in the media?

IIRC, back when I had my surgery there was some talk on the forum(s) that the skin could be donated to burn victims for grafting .. I never knew anyone personally that did that, though, either on here or in real life ..

Topic: Al Roker Waxes Nostalgic About His WLS

Over the long haul, he has certainly done an excellent job (except for at least a couple of worrisome "ups and downs" that I noticed personally ), but I just can't believe it was 20 years ago .. I thought for sure he didn't have it done until some time after my own, which was less than 16 years ago .. (he does "blooper" though in his video and state that "these are the pants I wore back in 2020 when I had my (WLS)" .. - he must have meant "2002")

Check out this bit of wisdom from the video:

"Here's the thing I say to the person in the couple who?s not struggling with their weight: Shut up," he said. "We know we're fat. We know we need to lose weight. You're nagging us and pleading with us doesn't help. In fact, in ways, it makes it worse. We're not going to change until something clicks within us."

It's medical waste unless your plastic surgeon/hospital unit coordinates a living skin donation with your agreement (which I think is pretty rare but I'm not an expert).

When you had your first surgery, your stomach was about the size of 2-liter bottle of soda. It could hold a lot of food. It was reduced down the size of about a grape. But with the tiny little stomach we figure out how to put enough calories into it to gain weight. A revision might make it a tiny bit smaller, but it will not be any noticeable difference like the first time. Revisions result in a 20 pound loss from the liquid diet before surgery and then very restricted diet for a month after surgery. But once people heal up, they tend to go back to regular meals and gain back that 20 pounds.

There is a way to lose that weight again, but it is by eating less food than you burn. Either you become a super athlete and spend hours a day exercising or you go on a calorie restricted diet. I personally follow Weigh****chers. I made up my mind years ago that I will always be on a diet or I will gain the weight back again.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
