they just stretch it back to the width it's supposed to be (i.e., the size of the stoma minus the stricture) - so it's not going to make you gain weight. I had two of them - at four weeks out and again at eight weeks out. I went on to lose over 200 lbs.
plus it's not an option not to fix them. If you allow them to continue, at some point, you won't be able to keep fluids down, either - which means you'll be dead in a few days.
Hello Everyone
Its been a while since I ve posted :-) Hope everyone is well. I was sleeved 8 years ago and have suffered from acid reflux since. i recently was converted to a by-pass because of the reflux on Novemebr 1. Since being converted I have been throwing up and recently had to be dilated due to a stricture. I have been eating ok since but my worry is that Ill gain weight back since the stricture was fixed. I have been having anxiety thinking about this. Can someone please ease my mind. After your stricture was fixed did anyone gain weight because you could eat more?
I tried talking to my hubby but he does not understand why im having anxiety
Please Help me
I have never posted a before picture and never will. I put them in the shredder years ago. I did not like how I looked and had no desire to share those pictures with anyone.

I understand your hesitancy but don't be afraid. This site is for people who have been in the same place as you. I haven't posted my photo but I am working on getting one I can as I have lost a lot and feel like seeing the difference could help others who are wanting to have surgery.
I don't know why I'm so scared I posting I'll before picture I'll before pictures me before am I weight loss and my transition. I'm guessing afraid of what people wanna say. I just want my Picture to inspire people and say she can do it I can do it
I agree. I spent more than that adding a three-season porch to my house. I enjoy my new & improved body as much (if not more than!) my porch!
Even though it is expensive and rarely covered by insurance, to me plastic surgery was essential to really finishing the job There was a quote in a book, "Weight loss surgery gave me back my health, plastic surgery gave me back my self-esteem". If people can spend $50,000 or more for a car, I consider my body and self esteem more important.

I also lost over 200 lbs. I've since had my excess skin removed because it was driving me crazy, but I lived with it for a couple of years. I just figured out how to dress to take advantage of the "good" parts and hide the "not-so-good" parts.
I carried my weight high - I was apple-shaped. My hips, butt, and thighs were fine, but I was built like a linebacker with a big gut. So I had tons of excess abdominal skin, very droopy boobs, and moderate batwing arms. So I'd wear long-ish, slightly oversized tops with 3/4 length (or longer) sleeves and "tummy control" leggings, mostly (although something like Spanx would work as well for pulling in the gut rolls). Also, I sometimes wore things like red (or other vibrant color) pants in hopes of drawing people's eyes away from my "problem' areas. I'm not really into fancy hair styles and make-up, but something like that might draw people's attention away from "problem" areas as well. Anyway, here I am BEFORE I had all the skin removed. As you can see, it's fairly well hidden by just dressing strategically:

The best non-surgical way I can think of is shaping garments. They help smooth things out and gives you a more defines shape,
