Yes. At first, I had sugar dumps. Especially after eating fruits. I'm not like that now. I did dump a few months ago, because of too much fat.
Fast forward to today, I am trying to get more healthy with food and exercise. I still go by the rules of the pouch. I eat a whole foods plant based diet. I lost a few more pounds and completely eliminated all of my meds except my vitamins and b12. No inflammation, no headaches and colds are far and in between. And they only last for about a day. Blood pressure is usually 90/65 now.
Postprandial hypoglycemia is a condition when after you eat the blood glucose drops. So now I have to force myself to eat. I believe I am making too much insulin. If you're diabetic, you are hyperglycemic. And that is a result of eating too much fat, not carbs. I voluntarily made the decision to have the Rny surgery because I didn't want to become diabetic. They say this only happens with RNY patients and had dumping. My best friend never dumped. They say it's a 50/50 chance for dumping. This is really rare, only 1 percent has this so far. So I make sure that I eat vegetables that has fat in it. I eat chickpeas, especially before bed. If not, my fasting blood glucose will drop to levels that will kill me. My husband suddenly died almost 2 years ago, so I really have to look after myself.
I hope this explains it a little better for you. I would get a glucose monitor, if you don't have one already and just test it or go to your doctor.
Take care, Teresa
That is a lot of scientific terms and big words and I do not understand it or have the patience to try to read it. Is this referring to dumping?

We will never know but I am guessing she was on a lot of drugs and that is why did not seek medical attention for the pain. Opioids cause constipation anyway so drug users may ignore pain that others would get treatment for.

Here's more info on small bowel obstruction, so that post-ops may know what to be on the watch for. Strangely enough, the article says that Presley had been complaining of the painful and distressing symptoms of the obstruction for months before she passed.
No idea why she didn't contact her bariatric surgeon in regard to the matter all that time. By the time of her death, she had about 30 feet of blood-starved bowel as a result of the obstruction, the autopsy reports. ![]()

GEEZ .. and I hate to admit it, but, like many of us on here, she had the D.S. procedure.
Anyone know how long ago her WLS took place? Looking back at past news articles, she did seem to be beaming to the media about her weight loss approximately 10 years ago. She attributed same to them as supposedly being due to changes in her diet and exercise.
However, we all know the stigma to many of putting it out there that they have had WLS, for various personal reasons.

Alkaline water is essentially water with added minerals to raise its pH level. You can achieve a similar effect by using readily available products like antacids such as Tums or Alka-Seltzer, which can help neutralize stomach acid. These options can be more affordable and offer comparable relief.
