So glad your rehab is coming along. It was a big weekend for me - Bronze in foil on Saturday and 8th place in Saber on Sunday.

Monday - school board meeting - no work out

Tuesday - lifting and fencing lesson I missed MOnday

Wedensday- I'm supposed to be fencing but it's cold, rainy and I have an on-street parking spot right in front o f my house.

Thursday- lifting

Friday - Something

Saturday - Something

Sunday - Rest.

Keep on losing!

Another week of rehab in the books. It seems like we are focusing more on strength now and not quite as much on mobility.

Walked 3.1 miles today and the weather was perfect. 51 degrees, little wind..this is the weather I wish I was running in..actually wore long pants today because even though Im walking at a decent pace, it doesn't warm you up like running.

I averaged exactly 17.0 mph..I think for a short guy thats pretty good..lol

from all my time and years in the gym never have i seen it done this way. Her hands are out to far number one. Number 2 is they should be telling you only to raise as far as you can keeping your posture and your form. It is not about how high you go. as you get stronger you will be able to go higher. Remember to always have control of the band. do not let gravity pull the bands down but lower slowly. that is part of the job. if you want more hints just let me know. like different grips etc. trainer has taught me well

I have never used bands for that except on my feet in rehab. I would have no clue. Sorry

deep down the answer is no but there is still a part of me that wonders. The police says he was gone i would not have been able to save him. My minister is the only one who i have told in detail what i saw and he says even if you did save him he would not have normal. He would have brain damage and so many of his bones were broken it would be awful for him. I know that. I pray that he knew i was there for him and at his darkest moment that a stranger did care about him.

I am working through it. It is the running that is hard and seeing bridges. My trainer is concern for me on my race how i will handle the bridges that i will have to face. the fact that people stand on them and cheer us is going to be hard.

Topic: Help with resistance bands

I decided I wanted to try working out with resistance bands. I'm new to this, so I bought these bands which were highly rated. I then found this video from the British Heart Foundation that teaches you how to do a basic workout with resistance bands.

I tried the very first exercise, shown below. You're supposed to raise your hands up to shoulder height, keeping your elbows slightly bent. The problem is that even the lightest band won't stretch enough to allow me to move my hands more than a couple of inches away from my hips. I don't think the problem is that I'm not strong enough; I think the band is simply too short. Even if I somehow managed to stretch the band enough to get my hands up to shoulder height, the band would be under so much tension that I doubt my hands could hold onto the ends. Unless these bands stretch a LOT with use, and I just need to keep trying?

Assuming I'm right and I need to buy different bands to do this type of exercise, what do I look for? Is there some terminology I need to look for in the product listing? A brand/model recommendation would be welcome.

That's not me in the picture, by the way. I wish I were that young and fit!

Would CPR have helped him? I assume you mean he was committing suicide? That would be tough to deal with. I agree, get a counselor to help. Thats a heavy burden you dont need to carry around.
