I was 6 months post op when I found out I was pregnant. I am now 16 weeks and expecting twins also in Dec 2013. Really wasn't planning to get pregnant but its happen. I had lost 150 lbs prior to getting pregnant and have noticed that my weight has stayed the same or maybe gone down a bit 5 lbs or so. I find it hard some days to get everything in since morning sickness was pretty bad. I was 50 lbs from my goal which still freaks me out and I worry I will gain and not be able to finish off losing the weight. We will see. I am looking to breastfeed.
Any advice from others?

Thanks for your replies :) yeah I thought the nut was exactly that, a nut! And she knows about the surgery in detail so not sure why she's so hung ho on such high cals. I've increased to an average of 1600 and will stay at this level I think as long as baby is growing on target. As we all know, with morning sickness sometimes I'm lucky to drink my whole protein shake in a day! Blah!
Anyways, thank you and a happy and healthy pregnancy to us all :)
Congrats! Sorry to hear about the c-section though, not fun! What was the reason for the induction in the first place? I have yet to meet anyone who was induced and didn't end up with a c-section.
That sounds like a ridiculous number of calories! I would guess that is based on a "normal" person needing 2000 calories a day and the recommendation to increase calories by 300 while pregnant. I'm not a doctor, but to me, that goal sounds like a lot of weight to end up having to lose after pregnancy. If you're still overweight, it is perfectly fine to only gain 15-20 lbs. When I had my second pregnancy (6 months post sleeve) i just aimed to add in a few snacks to increase my calories by a few hundred . I gained 18 lbs, had a very average size baby, and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight 2 weeks after he was born. I honestly think the numbers these doctors come up with are just pulled from thin air sometimes! 2300 calories would more than double my current intake, I'd be a whale after nine months!
I will post pics after I figure out how.
im not sure why they want you to eat that many calories. for me my nut had me eat something every 2 hours to boost up protein even if it was just a cheese stick . It was mostly about getting in the protein. Good luck
I didn't have the shooting pain with my first, but I sure do with this baby! It almost feels like a tube the runs down and the shooting pains run down it! (Not a Dr.) But I think it has to do with how the baby is laying...at least in my case! This baby likes to lay the wrong way and pinch on my nerves!
As far as water breaking...like the pp said, it really is different for everyone and for most people the Dr. Breaks it...for my first I was sleeping in bed...at midnight I got up to pee and all of a sudden a gush came out as I got up...went to the bathroom not sure what it was...when I got up again more came...it didn't stop....it wasn't a ton of liquid but I knew it wasn't urine since it didn't stop! After that things picked up and contractions started in for me! 10 hours and 3 minutes later my boy was born! Good luck on your c-section! Won't be long now!

2300 calories? goodness! i wasn't anywhere near that when i was pregnant. we increased my calorie content from it's baseline which was originally 900 calories to roughly somewhere around 1500-ish. granted, we also have different types of WLS so that may have something to do with it. although toward the end of the pregnancy, i had to force myself to eat cheese sticks and carnation instant breakfasts (extra 300 calories a day) to keep my calorie content up at the behest of my nutritionist. if i didn't, i'd lose weight and they'd freak on me.
