Well, I notice now they are running a shorter T.V. commercial instead of the original one, and had hoped they did that to edit out the slam to WLS after possibly getting many complaints about that part from viewers. But, alas, NO .. the bit testimonial in it -- the customer still takes a dig at WLS ..
This kind of reminds me about Women's World magazine. A few years ago it was commonplace for them to feature a person (or sometimes 2 gals) that had lost a large amount of weight through diet, exercise, etc. on the cover, with a caption of something like "She lost ______ bs. and did it without gastric bypass surgery" (or "without surgery"). Lately I have not noticed that b.s. when going through the grocery checkout line at the store, so either maybe they "wised up" about it or the mag is no longer being published. ?

Do you know which type you will be having? With that extreme weight and BMI, I would hope - for reasons of safety and long-term result - you opt for a 2-part DS, with the first part being the VSG portion performed. After you have safely lost a certain % of the EW then you can return for the re-routing 2nd part of the procedure. Good luck on whatever you decide!

Thanks for the helpful information. Is there any foods that I should avoid?
I haven't seen that commercial yet! Jeesh you would think they would know better with so many people having weight loss surgery.
20 years ago! wow, seems like yesterday he had his surgery.
Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Protein, Protein, Protein! And chew your foods well.

Can you add more details to your question? Which surgery are you having? Are you asking about what to expect from a food perspective? A recovery perspective? Physical/hormonal changes? Mental challenges? Ability to hit your goals? Every experience is different and every program has different rules so keep that in mind too.

I think it makes sense to donate it to research. It seems like a waste to throw it out.
I weigh over 600lbs what can I expect after I have my surgery
