Topic: RE: The new Peanut Butter Caramel Surprise protein bar by Pure Protein...
tastes AWESOME!!! 18 grms of whey protein.
Topic: RE: When I'm able to fit into smaller clothes...
I automatically think that the clothes manufacturer must make their clothes bigger, as if to discount the fact that I'm actually that size now!! It's self sabotoge!! Why can't I accept the fact that I AM that size & just embrace it?! Anyone else do that???
Topic: RE: I took a couple of ibuprofen for the 1st time since surgery!
I had a BEAST of a headache & no Tylenol in sight, so I broke down & took ibuprofen. I know it's a no no, but isn't this rule really geared towards people who would use ibuprofen regularly & not just on an occasional basis??
Topic: RE: Woo hoo!! Finally...50 lb's lost!!!
It seems like it took forever (as compared to others), but as of today my weight loss totals 50lbs!!! Feeling good about that!!! I have 25-30 lbs to go..wish me luck!!! :)
Topic: RE: Is cheese considered dairy or protein??
Krazydoglady, that's exactly what I was referring to! I know cheese is obviously both dairy & protein, but wasn't sure what our doctor considered it as in regards to our required daily intake. Thanks!
Topic: RE: Is cheese considered dairy or protein??
I vaguely remember talking about this at one of my doctor's appt, but can't exactly remeber what they said. I thought I was doing good with my dairy intake w/all the cheese that I eat, but I believe they said it was considered a protein?? I think we talked about this subject because I wasn't eating enough yogurt/milk & that I had a misconception about what food group the cheese was actually in?? Please help me folks! I know this is probably a dumb question, but thanks in advance:)
Topic: RE: Need to be more disciplined!!
Feeling discouraged because my weight loss is currently at a stall & to add insult to injury, I've consistently been a slow loser. I was really diligent about following the plan in regards to my food, but lately I have deviated a bit. Had a whole slice of pizza, indulged in some sweets, etc.. It was very easy for me to stay on plan the first 4 1/2 mos because I hardly ever felt hungry & had NO desire for sweets/carbs (my trigger food), so the food I was eating was low in calorie & protein based. But now head hunger (ie, snacking) has kicked in & my evil sweet tooth is back. I have to definitely keep that in check! I'm starting to feel like I'm not gonna lose anymore weight because I've always heard that in the first 6 mos, you supposedly lose the most. I hope I can lose more in this year because I'm not close to my goal. I know what I need to do to jump start the weight loss. Protein first, no/low carbs, drink my fluids, exercise. When they say the sleeve is only a tool, they ain't kidding! I have to do my part as well. I plan on refocusing & making the most of my sleeve!!! :)
Topic: RE: How do you make those parmesan crisps in the microwave?
You use wax paper, right? How much parm & how long do you nuke it? Thanks! :)
Topic: RE: ? for the ladies...
It seems that I feel weak & dizzy while on my period. Never had this issue prior to VSG. Do any of you have this same issue?? And can this be a sign of anemia? I don't know if having low iron is worse during your cycle due to all the blood loss?? All I know is that I've just been out of it this past week.
Topic: RE: Reflecting on this old post of mine & feeling good...
Thank you everyone! :) And what reunion Carolyn?? Wasn't aware of one. Please fill me in!
Topic: RE: Dear VSG forum - my boyfriend has pretty much left me cuz I got fat & chose surgery
Ummm...Are you serious?!? I can't believe you are even stressing about a jerk such as this. You're better off without him. That's not love sweetie! Your self-esteem seems really low for you to even think twice about a man that treats you like crap. I hope that you can regain your confidence & strength one day soon to realize what you're really worth & what you truly deserve in life. :)

Topic: RE: Help! I forgot the name of those crunch bars yall were endorsing!
Power Crunch bars. I've tried both versions..the wafer type bars & the milk & dark chocolate bars. Much prefered the milk/dark bars.

Great find! Thanks for letting us know! I'm gonna pick some up at my Publix :)
Topic: RE: URGENT TMI QUESTION.....LADIES ONLY!!!!
I've been told NO NSAIDS whatsoever for life. Examples are Motrin, Aleve, Ibuprofin. Tylenol is fine. NSAIDS cause ulcers to VSG patients.
Topic: RE: Carbonation.......
This is good to know. All I hear is how bad soda is for you post-op! I was so scared that I didn't even touch the stuff until around 3 mos. Even then, only took a few sips, had this crazy vision of my tummy exploding! LOL! These days, I will have a diet coke at least once a week & always feel guilty about it afterwards. But I use to drink 3-4 a DAY pre-op! I was a HUGE addict! So, now I'm not feeling as bad. I think all things in moderation is a good thing.
By the way, the chocolate Bariatric Advantage chews are horrific (in my opinion), the lemon flavor is good, and just got the caramel, pretty tasty to me (even though they are a bit sweet).

Topic: RE: Getting my groove back...pics.
Thank you all for the encouraging & sweet comments! I guess I don't look so bad for a Mom of 3, huh? ;) It's been a while since I've felt good about myself, so I'm definitely enjoying the ride so far! I certainly have a ways to go, but I'm happy with the results thus far! Good luck to all of you on your journey, whatever stage you may be in :)
Topic: RE: Where can I find the best deal on chewable calcium citrate?
The lemon flavored chews from Bariatric Advantage taste good, but the chocolate flavor is horrific in my opinion.
Topic: RE: lab work - thiamine deficiency
I was deficent as well. I was having horrible leg aches & they said that's a sign of low Thiamine. Had blood work & sure enough, it was. I take a 100 mg Vitamin B capsule & monthly injections of B-12.
Topic: RE: Urinating less after surgery ???
Yep! I have that same issue & was worried. But apparently, I'm not the only one! It's not dark in color, so the less fat pressing on your bladder theory makes sense, as does not getting all the fluids from the volume of foods we use to eat pre-op. And, I use to wake up 2-3 times a night to empty my bladder, no more of that! I also notice something that's weird..maybe TMI, but the stream of urine isn't as strong as I remember, it's very faint. Again, light color urine, so I must not be dehyrated, wonder what that's from though?? hmmm??
Topic: RE: How do you like me NOW!?! 6 month post-op photo-whoring.
Wow!! You look amazing!! Congrat's on your success so far!!!
